bad luck
seemed to
follow you
just as much
as
death
followed you.it was
like your
hands were
eternally
cursed.you were
only so young,
but bodies
and graves
followed behind
you.the
world
kept its
distance
from you.so you kept
your distance,
too.i wanted to
help.
i wanted to
lift some
of your
burden.but you
wouldn't let me.you just decided
to carry the deaths
and hold on —
hold on to
whatever
life
was left of you.you'd rather
be the
one in pain
than let
others
feel pain
for you.tell me, atlas,
which is heavier?
the world or the
broken
souls of the
people?
