Dean
The red light flickered to green and Dean turned left. That's when the gas light lit up on the car's dashboard, signaling that the car is low on gas and needed a fill-up.
"Damn," he cursed under his breath. He didn't have time for this. Dean needed to get to a photo shoot. He was the photographer and being late was unacceptable. Dean used his phone for finding the closest gas station.
Here are some gas stations near you. A list of gas stations showed up on the screen. He chose the first suggestion which was a local Gas n' Sip. The gas station was only two minutes away, which was great. He followed the directions his phone provided for him.
Dean pulled into the Gas n' Sip and parked next to one of the fuel pumps. He adjusted his Polaroid strapped around his neck as he got out of the car. He didn't want it to fall off.
He walked into the gas station store. He looked around. I might as well get a snack while I'm here. Dean scanned the isles until he finally found what he wanted.
"Pie!" he exclaimed out loud while he took the small container off the shelf. Dean read "Apple Pie" and that was enough to convince him to buy it. He took the pie up to the counter to pay.
"Just the pie, Sir?" the cashier asked.
"Uh, no. I need gas for my car out there on pump 6." Dean pointed out to his car through the window. He turned his head back and took his first look at the cashier. Dean was getting money out of his wallet when he first walked up to the counter so he didn't see him at first. The man was wearing a simple white dress shirt with a blue vest and jeans, but it looked good on him. His vest complimented his blue eyes. Dean read his name tag. Cas.
Cas looked out to where Dean had pointed. "The Impala out there belongs to you? Nice car," Cas complimented. Cas has always taken an interest in cars. He turned back and locked eyes with Dean.
"Thanks."
"How much gas do you need?"
Dean handed him a twenty dollar bill. The whole time, none of them broke eye contact. Cas was the first to break the connection when he put the money in the cash register and pressed a couple more buttons.
Cas took the pie and the receipt and placed them both in a bag. He handed the bag to Dean over the counter. Dean reached over to grab the bag from him and their fingers brushed for a split second. It happened so fast Dean thought he imagined it.
"Come again," Cas wished.
Dean nodded in a daze as he turned and walked out of the store and back to his car. What just happened?
Cas
Cas peered out the window through the blinds at the stranger who just left the store. Who was that? Why did he have a Polaroid with him? Those cameras are old.
There was something about him that Cas couldn't wrap his head around. He had the greenest eyes Cas had ever seen. His car also left an impression on him. Ever since Cas was little, he was always interested in cars, the 67' Impala being his favorite, but he never saw anyone driving it. Probably because it was fifty years old.
"Uh...excuse me?" a voice asked. Cas's thoughts were interrupted by a woman waiting to check out a couple bags of candy and an odd colored slushie.
"Sorry." Cas turned away from the window and the stranger to scan the pack of gummy bears. He looked at the slushie in confusion. "What flavor is that? I don't recall stocking any flavors of that color."
She giggled. "I put a little bit of all the flavors in there. It looked cool at first but now that it all mixed together..." She trailed off, implying that the dark purple and black slushie is the result of the blending of all the colors.
