It was the next night. Silverfog had punished him by making him clean out the entire elders' den. It didn't take as long as Skypaw had thought, but he had hated the job, and he was going to make sure that Silverfog didn't catch him this time.

Why does Silverpaw want to meet me? Shrugging, he kept walking toward the border. He looked up at the stars. StarClan, don't let any other cat find out! Catching the sharp tang of ShadowClan, he walked forward more cautiously.

"Hi!" Skypaw jumped at Silverpaw's voice. "It's nice to see you again!" she meowed.

"Why did you want to meet me here?" Skypaw asked warily.

Silverpaw looked surprised. "I just wanted to talk to you. You seemed nice enough before." She shuffled her paws in embarrassment.

Skypaw was unsure of what to say. "I-I" he stammered.

Silverpaw just looked at him. "Didn't you want to see me again also?" She was starting to sound a little sad.

Not wanting to be mean, he said: "Y-yes, I guess..." and looked down at his paws. Suddenly he meowed, "I-I should get back to camp."

Walking away from the border, he heard Silverpaw's call: "Wait! Come back!" She crossed the border to pad next to him. "We could have fun and play together, without any cat knowing!" Skypaw glanced at her warily.

        "Come on!" she begged.

"Well I-I guess maybe..." His voice trailed away.

"Great!" Silverpaw's eyes widened. "We can explore! And maybe hunt a bit." This could possibly be fun, he thought. Might as well enjoy it.

"Alright, I have to be heading back to my clan."

Skypaw looked at Silverpaw in disappointment. "Already?"

"Yes. We don't want our clans knowing that we were here tonight." Silverpaw started walking away. "You'll be here tomorrow night?" she called.

"Definitely!" he replied. "I look forward to it!" And with a burst of speed, she was gone. Skypaw looked after her admiringly. She had shown some great moves while they were playing. But you shouldn't be doing this, a voice told him. Why not? Surely it can't be that bad?  But the voice didn't answer.

Skypaw headed back towards his camp. He thought he caught a fresh, familiar scent at one time, but ignored it. This is Riverclan territory! I shouldn't be afraid of finding a fresh scent in our own territory, someone's probably just out night-hunting.

As he curled down to sleep, he thought about how fun it was to have visited with Silverpaw, and how fun it would be to visit with her tomorrow.
