Roadtrip (Ch. 3)

 A few more cheesy songs played on the radio. Subaru was nearly asleep when he heard "AND I NEED YOU. AND I MISS YOU!" It was Reinhard, belting out the lyrics to a song. Julius was in a fit of laughter as the redhead continued singing. "CAUSE YOU KNOW I'D WALK A THOUSAND MILES IF I COULD JUST SEE YOU~" Reinhard pointed to Subaru. "TONIGHT"

Subaru slapped his hand to his forehead as Reinhard teased him.

"Don't be such a stick in the mud Subaru!" Julius laughed "We're doing this so that we could have fun you know."

"Yeah, yeah. How much longer until we get to the beach?"

"We're about there actually, see?" Julius pointed forward. There it was! The beach. Where Subaru's day was going to completely suck.

As they pulled into the parking lot, Reinhard gathered all their bags and grinned from ear to ear. He was obviously excited about their day off. Subaru got out of the car, practically slammed the door shut and walked towards Reinhard.

"Here's your stuff! Don't forget to use sunscreen! It's hot out today!" Reinhard grabbed Subaru's arm and dashed off to a changing room. "Well? Get your trunks on!"

Subaru sighed and began to undress so that he could put on his swim trunks. They fit, at least that's one thing that went right on this seemingly horrible day.

"Oh! Good, they seem to fit perfectly." Reinhard smiled and patted Subaru's back.

Subaru look the redhead up and down and couldn't quite get over the fact that his swim trunks were nearly as red as his hair. It was sort of funny but he quickly regained his composure so he wouldn't burst out laughing. It was just so red and had little suns printed all over it. The two of them made their way to the sandy beach, it was really hot outside. For some reason, Subaru felt a little bit of relief for a moment, but it all went away once he saw Julius, who was wearing plain blue swim trunks and a gray tanktop. He always seemed to have a smug look on his face that made Subaru mad. He'd punch him but... That wouldn't turn out so well. All three of them found a spot they liked, Reinhard set up a little beach umbrella for them to sit under. Julius decided he would go swimming for a bit and Reinhard dragged Subaru along to join him. The water wasn't too cold, it felt nice, but Subaru still didn't want to be there. He floated in the water and waited for the time to pass and Julius and Reinhard messed around. At least they were having fun.

"ATTACK!" Julius splashed Subaru with so much water that his nose and mouth filled with it. Salty, gross seawater.

"Julius! What the hell?!" Subaru coughed, spitting up the gross water. "Why would you do that?! Are you trying to kill me!?"

"I'm just having some fun! I wanted you to have fun as well." He chuckled. Reinhard was in the back laughing as well. Subaru shook off the feeling of embarrassment and tried ignore them, only for Julius to tackle him.

"Got you! Look Reinhard! I caught a really ugly fish!"

"Let go!" Subaru elbowed Julius and immediately stormed off to the changing room, he had enough of them making a joke out of him.

"I think you hurt his feelings." Reinhard frowned.

"But, I was only having fun, why does he hate me so much?"
