Grey. The only color Jesy saw. Nothing was physically wrong with her, it was simply that the joy in her life had left piece by piece. She had many relationships with men and women but none of them lasted. Jesy loved passionately and with her whole heart, unfortunately others did not. She had friends too, and while she valued them immensely, every single one of her friends had other plans, other people to be with. Everyone seemed to drift away from Jesy. She longed to be someone's priority for once.
After years of this feeling she built walls. Walls that were tall and strong from years of hurt. She didn't want to be hurt so she didn't talk to people.
That leaves Jesy where she is now. In a bar drinking a gin and tonic, the world completely grey. Absolutely void of color, or joy.
The bartender, leighanne, knew Jesy's order, what time she came in everyday and when she would leave. She couldn't help it, leigh was worried about the girl. One day she went home and told her girlfriend Jade about the girl.
"She just sits there. For 45 minutes everyday. She doesn't talk. It's like she's a shell of a person." Leigh explained. Jade was as baffled by this woman as leighanne.
One Tuesday night, as leighanne worked the bar, Jesy didn't show up. Leigh waited, 7, 8, 9, 10 she even stayed in the bar 20 minutes after her shift just to ensure the mysterious girl was ok. At 10:33 leigh left the bar, worried and defeated. Jesy didn't show the next day or the day after that. But Friday, she was there at 9:25 as always. But this time her cheeks were slightly more hollow, the bags under her eyes heavier and when leighanne greeted her, Jesy didn't respond as she usually would.
Leighanne did not know, but Jesy had met a girl. She was blonde, had the most beautiful smile, full of joy and life. She also unfortunately had a boyfriend. James was his name apparently. Jesy hadn't said more then 20 words to this girl that she met at her friend Claud's flat but she already knew that this girl had the ability to shatter her. Numbers were exchanged, Perrie sent texts. With emojis. And exclamation points. Good morning texts, "how are you doing", good night, as if she actually cared. Jesy didn't answer, she couldn't answer, didn't want to get invested. She knew Perrie was not interested, but by distancing herself she was also slowly killing herself.
5 days after Jesy met Perrie, at 12:45 three knocks rang out through Jesy's apartment. Perrie was standing there. Soaked from head to toe, and still smiling. She saw Jesy and immediately became concerned. "You didn't reply to my messages" she said. "I-I" Jesy had no excuse. "It's ok i forgive you" Perrie smiled as she walked into the living room. "Here let me get you some clothes" Jesy rushed out of the room and returned with a large tshirt and pj pants. "The door to the bathroom is your second on the right" Jesy pointed.
Jesy put on Harry Potter and cuddled in a large blanket while Perrie showered and changed. "I'm baaaacccck" Perrie's sing-songy voice called from behind Jesy. They cuddled and watched the movie, Perrie's head on Jesy's chest and Jesy on a pillow. Before long, both girls were asleep.
Perrie's phone blared at 9 the next morning, signaling time to get up.
"Shit I forgot to turn that off this weekend." She scolded herself. After the girls ate breakfast and returned to the couch Perrie brought up what had been on her mind for the past week.
" why didn't you respond?"
Jesy was silent.
"I won't judge Jes. But I need to know if you're ok." Perrie pleaded.
"Ummm well Every relationship I've ever had, none last more than 7 months. Sounds like a long time but it's really not. I'm nobody's priority." Jesy responded. She had no idea why she was telling perrie things that nobody in the entire world knew. Things that had been hidden away by Jesy's walls for years.
"You're my priority." Perrie defended.
"You don't even know me. And you have a boyfriend." Jesy countered.
"I know that you doubt yourself. I know you're absolutely stunning. I know you deserve love. And I know that I no longer have a boyfriend as of 3 days ago." Perrie said, turning around to look at Jesy.
"Oh. I'm sorry. What happened." Jesy inquired.
"I broke up with him. But that doesn't matter. All that matters is that I can't get you out of my head." Perrie leaned closer to Jesy. She met Jesy's eyes, silently asking if this was ok.
Their lips drew impossibly close until finally they met. The kiss lasted only about 30 seconds but by the end Jesy was crying.
"Why are you crying babe?" Perrie asked wiping away Jesy tears.
"I've never felt wanted in my life other than right now." She replied.A/N:
