I'm in a Halsey mood

"Jes? Jesy? Hellooooooo" Jade waved her hand in front of Jesy's face in an attempt to get her attention. "Hmm? Sorry what Jade?" "I was asking if you wanted anything to eat, leigh made noodles?" Jade asked. "No, no thanks Jade I kind of need to be alone right now." Jesy gave Jade a sad smile. Jade nodded in understanding and left Jesy in the guest bedroom.

Jesy sat in silence, going over the past year in her mind. Was there anything that she did wrong? She and Perrie hadn't even had a large argument while they'd been dating. Sure they bickered at times but she would be more concerned if they hadn't. It had happened out of the blue, suddenly Perrie had stopped coming home for dinner, she promised it was a one time, then two time thing. She had just cut Jesy out all of the sudden.

Jesy didn't realize she was crying until she felt droplets on her thighs. She was at a loss. "what happened!?" She whispered to herself and put her head into her hands.

•••

Chicken was sitting on the counter, a small note with a heart on it stuck to the front of the plastic wrap covering it. One glance at the note and she was bawling. What the hell had she done. The love of her life had walked out the door because Perrie was a dumbass. She couldn't do it, Jesy deserved so much better she had told herself. Everything Perrie touched she fucked up. How could Jesy possibly love her? Jesy was beautiful, inside and out, funny, smart, just perfect. And Perrie had convinced herself that she was ruining Jesy.

Jesy could never love Perrie. Never. Never. Never.

These thought plagued Perrie's mind for weeks. So she stopped coming home. It was easier she thought, this way Jesy wouldn't be ruined. But it seemed Perrie's attempts to save Jesy had done the opposite. The brunette was somewhere hurting because of Perrie and that fact made Perrie want to jump off the roof of their apartment complex.

No. No Perrie you're going to fight for her. You fucked this up and you're going to try to make this right until you die.

2 days later•••

Jesy was meeting Perrie today for lunch in their apartment. Part of her wanted to stay in the warm bed of Leighade's guest bedroom, but most of her wanted to look in Perrie's ocean blue eyes and forgive her for everything. Much too soon leigh was pulling into the parking lot of the complex. "Remember if you need anything, call text whatever. Me and Jade will come get you immediately" Leigh hugged Jesy reassuringly. "Thank you so much leighly, for everything."

Knock knock knock

Perrie jumped up from the table that she had set in preparation for Jesy. "H-hey Jesy" she stuttered as she opened the door. "Hi Perrie" Jesy responded simply.
The use of her full name shoved the knife deeper into her heart.
Perrie gestured to the table where lunch was sitting. A simple soup and bread. The two ate in silence, all that could be heard were the clinking out spoons and the crunching of bread. As both girls finished their meals and moved to the couch, where Jesy broke the silence.
"Why'd you do it?"
"I-i- um " Perrie stuttered.
"Were you just done with me, I'm not as pretty, skinny as a girl at the bar?" Jesy spat venomously.
"No! No! no" Perrie began to cry. "You're too beautiful!"
Jesy looked confused at the response, looking at Perrie with questioning eyes.
"You're too good for me. I never understood how you looked at me. Like I was the best thing in the world. How? How could someone so perfect love me? A broken, damaged person like me? I thought it would be easier to detach from you if I never saw you. But everyday I missed you more. Your smile, those hazel eyes, your curves, your cuddles and kisses. You're not supposed to love me. This isn't supposed to work out, not for me, everything I touch is ruined. I- i- I didn't want to ruin you!" Perrie was sobbing into her hands.
Jesy sat, unable to process what just happened. "Perrie. Perrie" she grabbed the girl's chin and lifted it to meet her eyes. "I love you. I love you so much that it killed me when you weren't there. So much that even though you cheated on me, I want to forgive you and forget everything. But I can't."
Perrie's eyes began to fill with tears again.
"Wait pez. Hear me out. I need some time, I need to trust you again, loving you again is not an issue but I need to know you're here for the long haul. To comfort me when I'm at my worst. To chase our kids around when they've colored on the walls. To cuddle with me when it's -5 degrees outside. I need a partner, a girlfriend, someone present."

Perrie nodded, "I will wait for you forever Jesy."

7 weeks later •••

Jesy was laying on the couch with Perrie cuddled into her side. It had been a tough 7 weeks. Jesy stayed at Leighade's for a month while the two went on dates, and slowly worked their relationship back. Then Jesy had tentatively moved back in. She slept in the guest room much to Perrie's protest. Insisting that Jesy  should get the more comfortable bed.
The couple had worked a lot. They had talked about Perrie and Jesy's individual insecurities, their wants and goals for the relationship and more than anything, were completely honest about what they could improve. And slowly but surely they had done just that. 7 weeks later they were almost back to where they were before everything.

1 year later

Perrie stirred against Jesy's side, just waking up. Jesy stared lovingly at her now fiancé.

Perrie had proposed last month. She made the same dinner Jesy had their one year anniversary. She decorated the entire apartment and at 7 o'clock on the dot, had got down on one knee and asked Jesy to be her wife. The ring was a beautiful silver band with three small diamonds set into it with "I love you forever and always" engraved on the back. Two weeks later Jesy had given Perrie a ring of her own, a rose gold band with a single diamond set into it. With the same sentiment engraved.

"Babe?" Perrie mumbled into Jesy's chest.
"What is it?" Jesy asked, stroking the blonde curls sprawled out in the bed.
"I love you so much Jesy Louise Nelson"
