I tapped my pen against the clipboard as I watched the team do a practice match against each other.

"We can try this strategy again," Turret said. "Zany runs forward and does the delayed jump. Sept, you know the timing?"

Sept nodded in reply.

I stared as Zany and Sept practiced the strategy again and got it right. The ball successfully got past the blockers by deceiving them and hit the ground in succession.

"Mark that down," Turret turned to me.

I nodded and put a check mark on the paper.

"Ven, can you do us a favor and fill up the water bottles?" Zany asked.

I turned to the water bottles that were nearly empty.

"Yeah," I stood up and set the clipboard down and walked out of the gym with the water bottles in my arms.

As I exited the gym and headed to the nearest water fountain, I felt fear close around me suddenly.

I was alone in the school. Nobody was here. I felt fear...exposed.

I swallowed down my emotions and tried to think different thoughts.

As I started filling up the water bottles, I heard quick footsteps approaching from behind and the sound of heavy breathing.

"VEN!"

I jumped and screamed, all of the water bottles falling to the ground.

Hinata and Kageyama were behind me, both of them sweating and panting.

"WHERE ARE THE GIRLS WHO DID THIS TO YOU?!" Hinata shouted, anger in his eyes.

"I swear, I'm gonna rip them to shreds!" Kageyama snarled.

"Hey, no!" I wheezed, hands on my chest. "Stop screaming! Jesus, you nearly gave me a heart attack!"

"Your hair is so short now!" Hinata exclaimed. "I'm so sorry!"

"Huh? Oh," I touched my hair. I had nearly forgotten about it since last week. "Yeah...they did some stuff to it, but Rye's mom cut it for me so it's not bad,"

"Are you sure you're doing okay?" Kageyama asked. "That must have been some trauma,"

"I'd rather not go back and dwell on it," I scratched my wrist. "A-anyways, what are you guys even doing here?"

"We wanted to see how you were holding up," Hinata said. "After Zany told us what happened we nearly died with fear!"

Dammit, Zany, I thought.

"Well, thanks, I really appreciate it," I smiled at them. "Since you're here, do you mind helping me with water bottles? You guys owe me for scaring me like that,"

Kageyama and Hinata nodded and we all filled the water bottles up, bringing them back to the gym.

"About ti-" Zany started but stopped as he saw Kageyama and Hinata. "Oh! Look at what the wolf dragged in!"

The whole team groaned at Zany's pun before going forward and saying hi to the two.

"So," I went to Zany and crossed my arms. "Wonder how those two figured it out, hm?"

"Uh, I told them just today," Zany muttered. "We thought it would be best if Karasuno knew, since they obviously care for you. We thought it would make it easier if you didn't have to explain what happened,"

"Okay," I nodded. "But listen, next time you should ask me for permission. Please. I'd rather know you told them so I know how to react,"

"Alright, no problem," Zany pat my shoulder and I gave him a grateful look.
