HOW SHE HATED to see her not smile. Jinx would always go to her room to find her awake and hollow, it got worse at this time of year, she knew why but like everyone else, pretend it was a normal day.
She hated a lot of things. But she didn't hate Hogwarts, all the friends she had made last year to make a settle and check everything out before Astrid was allowed to go. She'd do anything for Astrid Queen.
Even if it was her job to do so, Astrid had been the one thing left that the Ashwright family had sworn to protect. And since both of them were all that was left, there wasn't anything really worth living for, that's what made them so dangerous.
Jinx sat across from Astrid, a fake smile on her face, as she talked about the two ruling Hogwarts together.

Jinx watched as even Remus, looked excited for the two to go to Hogwarts along with him. It wasn't something he had signed up for, taking care of two little broken girls. But he didn't regret it for the world.
The three sat and ate in silence, the excitement of Hogwarts dying down as Astrid stared at them, empty.
She would smile again, in a few days. Maybe after the month was done. But Jinx knew that as soon as they got to the platform, when Astrid saw the magic, she would be happy.
