Sophia
Part oneAnd I remember when I met you.
It's felt like just yesterday,
You held my hand,
Took my breath away.I saw a world I never before perceived,
Full of color,
A world of ivory and green. When you met my gaze,
My hear went away,
Away,
Into your hand,
My heart,
Was yours,
Forever more.You laughed like God,
I was your angel.
You blessed me,
Made me whole,
Took my sorrows,
Made me bold.Your eyes mirrored a waterfall,
Not quite blue,
Not quite green,
But refreshing,
Beautiful,
A dream.Your hand was soft,
On my cheek,
Made the broken parts of me a whole piece,
Your touch,
A new thing,
Drove me to love,
Gave me peace. It was so clear,
You were the only one for me,
I loved your voice,
You loved mine,
You sang a song only heard by me.Your laugh was gentle,
Like summer rain,
As we grew to together,
My love remained,
Constant was the glow,
Of our hearts beating together,
She said,
We were birds of a feather. And I believed the honey that spilled from your lips,
Oh the lips,
The lips I craved to kiss,
Though I prided myself on modesty,
Your touch became a commodity,
Ever so valuable to me.Your heart was many years younger than mine,
I, an old soul,
You, a childish delight,
Together, we were the perfect age of two lovers,
Two destined lovers,
To be together,
Through determination and might. The roses were sweet,
The necklace was red,
That day,
I remember,
I fell asleep in your bed,
After I awoke,
I shared secrets with your family,
We laughed deeply,
We cherished each other,
When they looked away,
I kissed your cheek neatly. And the look on your face,
When I saw those photographs,
You as a child,
Your bright smile,
And childish crafts,
Held up with pride,
And your poetry you wrote in your overwhelming innocence,
All in a trunk,
I saw it all,
My love was intense. Our first kiss,
Was one I won't soon forget,
Under water we held our breath,
I pressed my lips to yours and you rushed out of the water,
Shocked and unsure,
But,
I kissed you harder. As the night darkened,
The lights on the field brightened,
You swung a bat,
As you ran,
Dropped your hat,
You were flushed,
I loved you like that.Every night,
We would talk,
Late into the night,
Once even,
Until the sun light,
And when I could no longer speak, I'd beg you to sing,
You would say your voice wasn't a good thing,
But still,
You sang to me,
And still,
When I hear those songs,
I want to dream. And though you don't know this,
I wrote you letters,
Pages and pages,
Of my undying affection,
I have never given them to you,
Out of fear,
But I wrote them,
And I can see,
My love was clear. And I never did say it,
But I did love you,
I do love you,
My heart is yours,
I will always be true.Sophia
Part twoAll the stars seemed to shine for you,
My love,
You were the one I had always dreamed of,
When I thought of happiness,
I thought of you,
Thought of only your face,
Because,
I knew,
In your heart,
Was my place.Still,
You remind me of summer,
Even your memory smells like late nights and rain,
In my mind,
Fireworks light up the black skies,
And I name the colors,
The colors you don't see,
In my memory,
You are holding ice cream,
You are driving down the road,
Late at night,
I am still sitting by your side,
As you swerve,
Driving,
And trying to kiss me.Still,
Under my feet,
Are the shoes are I borrowed from your sister,
When mine were soaked after you dumped water all over me,
My clothes are still drying,
And your delighted in my shivers,
As you come closer to warm me.Still,
I can feel the fabric of your oversized shirt on me,
The way it smelt,
Is still branded in memory,
I remember,
Taking out of the closet,
And you said yes to me.In my mind,
I can still feel the way it felt when you first touched me,
On your bed,
You clutched my side,
Held my hand,
You said you were mine. That night,
You kissed me,
In a way I had never been kissed,
In a way only you could kiss me,
Softly,
Yet firmly,
Slowly,
But eager,
I yearned for your touch,
And freely you gave it to me.When I first felt you,
I was enchanted,
I brightened,
You intensely held my gaze,
You grabbed my face and told me,
All that is,
Is meant to be,
If not,
My dear,
My sweetheart,
There would be no you and me.And I believed you,
Every part of my soul,
I believed you loved me,
And would never let me go.But,
The end was near,
Even during the summer,
You were an anchor,
I was meant to be free.I pulled away,
Unwilling to let you drown me,
And you noticed,
I know you did.And one day,
I decided,
Not matter what,
Our love would not fade.In turn,
I spoke,
And soon,
You became the wind,
And I,
A boat in the sea,
You pushed me farther,
And again,
I was intensely in love.But,
A wild thing striving to be free and an anchor aren't meant to be.You found another,
While I was away,
Only,
I was still in love,
When you decided to stray,
Tragically,
I,
The person who would love you forever,
Was forgotten.And still,
My heart goes on,
And I cannot see,
How an anchor could hurt a wild thing like me.I was there,
Never leaving your side,
I stayed with you until the morning light. When you hurt,
You had me,
I would do anything,
Anything,
You meant everything.But,
Soon,
I found,
You wouldn't do the same for me.
