Power Chapter 2

Alex woke up sprawled on the floor. Sitting up, he looked around the room. Light shined through his window, and Alex assumed it was the afternoon, he blacked out the rest of the day yesterday.

"Mom!" He yelled. The only respond was the chirping birds outside his window.

He stood up and walked downstairs listening closely for anything. The vacuum was on the floor disconnected. The TV was on, but it only showed static. Alex decided to turn it off since it was getting him worried. He went i the kitchen and looked at the clock. 3:00 P.M.

Dad should have come from work by now, Alex thought. And were was his sister? She should have came from school by now.

Alex soon realized what was happening. Rushing back to his room, he noticed something about his Xbox. A red glow appeared on the power button. Alex knew what was that.

The red ring of death, people called it. It was a random thing, when your Xbox stops working, overheats, and shuts off, only leaving a red ring around the power button. After that, the console is worth scrap. Useless. Alex didn't want to believe that. He mashed the power button, and the TV turned on.

Alex froze."The darkness will consume all" was all over his TV screen, in red letters. His Xbox was the cause of this. It wasn't a clear answer, but it was a start. A knock on the door scared him back to the present. He quickly unplugged the TV, and hoped to never see those words again. The knocking continued, coming from downstairs. He slowly walked down the stairs and cautiosly walked to the entrance. Alex was scared of what might happen next. Looking through the peep hole, a surge of relief swept through him. He opened the door to see his friend Olivia.

"Hey Alex, Im assuming you can't find your parents either."
