Sweet Desire

Chapter 3

"We're all in the same game; just different levels. Dealing with the same hell; just different Devils"

"How does it look?" Adam whispered. He, Jordan, and the rest of the Ambush team were waiting inside a building they found abandoned in the capital of Emedo. At this very moment the battles were raging on between Emedo and the Duhitian plus rebel forces.

"Give it a few more minutes, the co--shit we need to go now," Ian hissed, he glanced out the window and motioned for everyone to move.

Adam pulled the hood of his cloak over, just to ensure his identity was kept hidden. Jordan had the same cloak on too.

Adam pulled out his sword to be safe and followed after Tom and Viskus, General Dune's son. Two Duhitian soldiers took the rear while Ian too the head.

They were a ten-minute dash away from the castle.

"Adam remember, when we get to the castle we head straight to the throne room."

"I know," Adam said to Jordan.

The two soldiers behind them ran forward and attacked some oncoming soldiers, "We got them!"

"Go on without us sirs!"

Since this was an ambush they chose the side with less soldiers. Most were fighting Mitch's troops anyways.

Ian motioned for everyone to turn into this alley way, it was a tight fit but it hid them better while Ian peeked out from the other side before motioning the coast was clear.

The two soldiers regrouped with them rather quickly.

"Jerome, your left!" Mitch shouted from the top of his horse. He saw Jerome swing his axe with a yell at an enemy. Mitch, on the other hand, drew back his bow and fired, saving a morvic from death.

"Damn, you think Adam and them made it yet?" Jerome yelled.

"I hope so!" Mitch felt weak, like he couldn't breathe very well, the beating of his heart felt fast and irregular.

Mitch fired another arrow and another and another. He gritted his teeth and coughed, his fingers trembled.

Not now.

Jerome rushed farther away slamming into a line of soldiers trying to form a wall, "Like this will work against us! Rush them! Clear a path farther into the city!"
