What am I doing here? What's going on Mr. Greer, and what am I doing here in his office of all people? Kevin pointed to Superintendent Harris.

Have a seat Kevin; there have been some new developments. Tony Greer instructed Kevin to take the seat near him.

Kevin looking at the couple to his right, the lady is seated; the man is standing behind her chair with his hands on her shoulders, searching their faces for some form of answer to his question. His temper is starting to rise but he knows he has to keep it in check. His temper is what landed him in this mess in the first place.

Mr. Stokes, I'm sure you're acquainted with your attorney, Mr. Greer; and you know your employers, the Lowe's. This gentleman is Judge Stevenson; and I'm Superintendent Harris, The Superintendent made an informal introduction of everyone.

Now, that I'm aware of who everyone is, why am I here? Kevin asked with irritation in his voice. You, pointing to the Judge, told me, that I may be looking at some long jail time. What, did y'all bring me in here to transport me somewhere else? If you did, you're out of line. My suit is sitting right here, he gestured towards Tony Greer on his left. If not, you're violating the limits of my patience; get on with it.

Kevin, you're not going anywhere but home, stating Tonju.

That man's head you bashed in, and with good reason if you ask me, will not be pressing charges. Neither will the D.A. be picking up this case, chimed in Reggie.

In other words, you're free to go. We have the man in custody in the hospital, he will be charged with the crime he committed, interjected Judge Stevenson.

So with that being said, Mr. Stokes you'll be leaving with your attorney and employers. I wish you the best of luck and hope not to see you again, the Superintendent extended his right hand to shake Kevin's hand.

Kevin looking from the Superintendent to his attorney to his employers to the Judge and is in shock. They all nod their heads in agreement and he accepts the handshake. He can't believe this is happening. He dodged going to prison when he was in Chicago and here he is dodging going to the prison in Los Angeles. He's two for two.

Now, he knows there really is a God.

Once outside of the County Jail, Kevin can't help but to keep thanking everyone, Tony man, you're the best lawyer in the business. Once again you've saved my ass. I don't know how in the hell I'm going to repay you on this one.

The way you can repay me is by not calling me unless it's about something good. But, this time, it wasn't your fault; you were doing what your instincts told you to do. And if I were faced with that situation, I probably would have done the same thing. Now, go home to your girl.

Kevin shook Tony's hand while he looked at the Lowe's. So does this mean I still have a job or do I pack it up?

You still have a job. You're not going anywhere. We like your work and how you handle yourself. You did what any self-respecting, woman loving man would have done. I, for one am surprised he is still alive. chuckled Reggie.

Reggie! Tonju shouts while poking Reggie in his left side on his ribs with her right elbow. Kevin, your job is secure. It's time for you to get home to Melanie. Tonju gestured with her eyes.

Kevin follows Tonju's eyes to the direction over his right shoulder. He turns around and sees the love of his life, Melanie coming towards him in a fast paced walk. He meets her walk with his walk towards her. Taking her in his arms and kissing her right cheek, her left cheek, her nose, and finally her soft caramel colored lips. Not caring about smearing her lip gloss as his tongue dances its way between her lips, into her mouth, down her throat, reaching her tonsils; while his hands are roaming up and down her body, making sure she's for real. In the short time he was in the County Jail, all he could think about was how much he loves Melanie. He vowed to himself to not leave her again; to get a hold of his temper. He realized she is the strong glue that keeps him together. Keeps him smiling and makes for a more enjoyable life.
