Chapter 4:The beginning of a journey

Sakura's P.O.V.

On our way home,Samuru sat alone.I glanced worriedly at him.He was just staring at the distant mountains.

I think I know how he's feeling right now.Being singled out to be special...I didn't like that,the time when I was singled out.But I had to live with it.In the end,life still had to go on.I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Simon!Sit down!"

Novu and Simon were arguing with each other.Argh!Why do I have to sit with these two idiots?Arguing with each other...we started out well but now,these two...arguing about a stupid little thing about sitting down in the seat beside me.Simon absolutely refused to sit down and Novu was trying to force him to.I really don't understand Simon...why is he so afraid of girls?Sigh.He's nuts,probably.

Here was how the argument went like:

N:Sit down,Simon.

S:Shah!No way!

N:Just sit down,Simon.

S:No!

N:Sit down,unless you want to stand the whole journey(Tries to pull him down)

S:No!

Everyone turns around to look at us.I face-palm.

N:Just sit down!It's not like she's going to bite!

S:No!!!

In the end,I had to stop those two.

"Will you guys just shut up?Simon,you better sit down now or else..."I gave him the death glare.

Simon took a step back,and plopped down on the seat.Novu aimed a smug smile at Simon.

"Shah!You wipe that smile of your face,Novu!Don't think you're the king of the world just because Sakura sided with you.One day,I'm gonna beat you up in a battle!"Simon glared at him.

"I look forward to that battle..."Novu grinned.

"Grrr..."Simon clenched his fists in anger.

I sighed.There goes the start of another quarrel.I glanced at Samuru.He didn't seem to notice the argument going on.Hmm....is he alright?

Silently,I crept close to him.

"Too many thoughts?"I asked.

Samuru jumped and looked up,"Don't scare me like that!"

I laughed,"You don't seem like a person who is easily scared!"

"He's human!Of course he's scared,"Dravise muttered,"Although he's thinking too much about the future to be scared."

"For the millionth time,you talk too much,"Samuru glared at Dravise.

"There's no point in scolding him.I bet he'll still continue,"Drasira muttered.

Samuru glanced at Dravise.He looked back at Drasira,"You're right,"he smiled.

Simon's P.O.V.

I glanced at Sakura.That girl seriously scares me...girls...

Luckily,she's sitting with Samuru now.

"Hey,you're spacing out over there.Mind telling me how you plan on beating me?"Novu asked,smirking.

Argh...the cheek of this guy...

"Sting them!Sting them!"Sasword said helpfully(NOT)

"I don't have a tail,you know,"I muttered.

Sasword fell silent.Seriously?Why can't he be more like Dravise,or Dracyan...even that little bunny b-daman could be nice.Seriously,all he wants is to sting people...

I turned back to Novu,"How about you enlighten me on how you tried,and failed,to control the world?"I retaliated.

Novu froze and glared at me.Oops...must have hit a soft spot.

"Sorry?"I kind of apologised.

"Never mind..."he trailed off.

Awkward silence fell between us.I looked away,and saw Samuru smiling.

Smiling?

"Woah...I thought smiling was almost impossible for him.I mean,trying to make him smile is like trying to get jam out of stone,"Novu muttered.

"Weird..."the two of us said at the same time.

We looked at each other,and burst into laughter.

Samuru's P.O.V.

"So,you guys get your stuff at meet up at Samuru's house,okay?"Sakura said.

"Wait,why-"I glared in annoyance at the retreating figures.Sigh.Can't even finish my question.

I headed back to my house cum museum.On the way there,I bumped into someone.It was Riki.

"Oh hi Samuru!Haven't seen you all day today!You're meeting us tomorrow,right?Me,Yuki and the others will be there!"Riki said in rapid-fire.

Right!I'm supposed to be meeting him tomorrow.Argh!What do I say to him?I can't tell him about the quest or he'll insist on following me.

But I didn't need to bother thinking about it.He just left with a little,"See you!"

Sigh.Never mind,I thought,walking towards my house.

Thirty minutes later,the four of us had gathered in front of my house.Simon and Novu were arguing againSomething about bringing an extra pair of underwear? Seriously?

When Sakura appeared,Simon yelled,"Shah!!Hide me!!!" and hid behind Novu.

Sakura just rolled her eyes.

Novu's P.O.V.

Seriously,Simon?I glared at him.He stepped away from me slowly.

"Guys,do not start a quarrel or I'll punch your lights out,"Sakura growled.

Samuru just smirked.

"Well then,let's go before anything else happens,"I muttered.

I turned around to leave.

"Guys,stop.Don't you guys want to rest before heading off?I mean,do you guys really want to start a journey through the woods in darkness,at night?"Samuru asked.

We looked at each other and shook our heads.

Sakura was about to say something but stopped herself.Hmm...what did she want to say?I glanced at her.She looked like a tough person...but why does she seem...so...so...

She's one mystery,that's for sure.I don't really know much about her,except that she's probably one of the best B-shots that has ever lived.

I wonder how her past was like...

And I wonder how her future will be.
