Chapter 27

Brantley:
I was working on a song when Grace came in my house. "Why do you argue so much lately?" She blurted out. "I.. I don't know." She just looked at me. "Cause you get drunk and I get mad that you're drunk. Brantley. Stop drinking." She smiled as if she solved a mystery. "Grace. You think if I stop drinking some how we will just never argue again? That's crazy talk." I said. "Let's try it." She still had a smile. "No." As I said that her smile faded. "You wouldn't just try it.. For us?" She asked stepping closer to me. "Grace don't pull that on me."  "Do you not care about our relationship. Or maybe how I feel?.." She started to tear up. "I do.. Just-" "just forget it.. If you don't wanna sacrifice for me, then... Then We're done." She walked out and slammed the door. What did I do. I didn't even say anything wrong how did that just happen? I walked out but she was already gone. Great...
Grace:
I left Brantley's more upset then sad about it. If he couldn't do one little thing to help our relationship then why bother. I stopped at a gas station to get a snack. Brantley was calling me I answered. "I said were done. So don't ever try. Don't bother calling or texting. Got it." Then I hung up. I got back on the road and headed home. I got home and went to chase's house it was only 5 in the afternoon. I knocked on the door. "Hey. I just got home from work!" He answered it. "We're done. Me and Brantley." "You're what?" His face lit up in surprise. "I gave up trying. So there is no more 'Grace and Brantley' I told him not to bother." Chase just stood there. "I wanted you to know first.. I guess I'll.. I'll talk to you later" "wait. Do you wanna come in?" He asked. As I thought about it.. "No... Bye." I said and turned and walked off and went home. As I drove home I was just in a down mood. I got in my house and threw my keys in the counter and pulled my phone out of my back pocket. And had texts from Brantley and Chase. I ignored them both and went and changed into some sweats and a big shirt then ordered pizza and turned on TV for the rest of the afternoon and night.
