I threw a grenade under a vehicle. "Take cover!" I screamed, diving behind an overturned trash bin. The bomb exploded, sending pieces of car and road flying everywhere. To my right, Cap dropped behind his shield as Winter and the Hydra agents advanced, opening fire. I pulled a pistol from my thigh holster, holding it in front of me defensively as I swept the area in front of me. Nobody. Behind me, I heard something boom amid people's screams and then I heard Cap yell, "RUN!" I sprinted for the nearest cover vehicle, as the Hydra agents spread to find us. Those hadn't been just machine guns they were holding, they were grenade launchers.

Falcon swooped down from above and grabbed a Hydra agent, throwing him across the road into oncoming traffic. I turned to see two agents running towards me, guns lifted. I sprung off the hood of the small car I'd been hiding behind, threw myself into the air, and flung a set of my tasers at them. They attached to the agents' boots and shocked them, sending them to the ground.

Something clicked behind me and I whirled to face Winter himself. I ducked as he fired, front rolling into his legs and knocking him down. Not for long, however. He was up once again. I launched off a roadblock and aimed my pistol for his face. He batted it aside, and grabbed me by the throat, lifting me into the air. I kicked and clawed at his hand, trying to free myself. He did it for me, and threw me across the road into a building. I slammed into it head first and slid down it. Blood poured into my eye, mixed with sweat and dirt. I sat at the base of the wall, catching my breath. My throat was definitely going to bruise.

Cap and the Falcon were locked in heavy combat. I stood, and pulled the other gun out of its holster, as I had dropped the other one when Winter and I had collided. I sprinted over to where Cap was sitting behind a roadblock and we rose, standing back to back. I picked off several agents with my gun, and when it ran out of ammo I tossed it aside and confronted them hand to hand. I jumped on one's back and wrapped my legs around his neck, tazing him with my wristbands. He dropped and I slipped off to find my next target. Falcon and Cap were fighting Winter, who was standing in front of me with his back turned. I flew onto his shoulders and dug my heels into his throat. He backed up against a semi. Ouch. That was going to bruise as well. I back flipped off of his back, landing on my feet. Instantly surrounded by agents, I threw a smoke bomb down at my feet and disappeared as they began coughing and choking.

The blood had run down my face into my mouth now and I spat red. A loud, thunderous boom split the air. I looked around, and Winter was gone. His agents were still present, so we picked off the last few of those, and then surveyed the wreckage around us. It truly was a mess. Several hundred feet of road was nearly gone, and another hundred feet or so was full of potholes and pits of fire. Cars were overturned, some just chunks on the road from being blown up. People were cowering on the nearby blocks.

"Hill, get us out of here," Cap spoke into his communicator. Several minutes later a helicopter landed near us, and Coulson was inside, gesturing for us to come in. Falcon stepped in first, and Cap followed soon after. I jogged and swung myself inside as the helicopter lifted off. As I sat down, sharp pain jetted through my calf. The adrenalin had worn off, and I was now feeling the pain. My head pounded and I looked down at my calf. I'd been shot. Cap looked okay, even with his suit turned brown because of several bloodstains. He sported a large cut on his cheek, and Falcon had been shot in the arm and had a gash down his leg.

"How are you guys doing back there?" Hill shouted from the controls. She swiveled her seat to face us, assessing our injuries, looking us over.

"We've been better," said the Falcon. "But I think we're all doing okay. I think, key word being think." He turned to face us and I cracked a small smile despite my face being caked with blood. I shifted in my seat, groaning. My back was killing me already. Maria spun her seat away from us again and landed the helicopter on S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.
