1) if you're looking to have softer, shinier hair, the answer is so simple. put coconut oil in it before bed, then wash it in the morning and try to avoid heat. i promise you will see results immediately.
2) if you want to soften dead, dry or damaged hair, heat up half a cup of olive oil then put it on your (dry) hair. use a shower cap or a grocery bag to cover it, cover it with a towel, and let it sit for 45 minutes to and hour. then wash it with shampoo.
3) to keep bobby pins in place, spray them with a little hairspray before putting them on, and always used the ridged side facing your scalp for grip
