4 - the party

We were parked outside Tara's house. Janet was frantically messing with her makeup. Apparently the wings weren't "killer" enough. How important were the wings of your eyeliner anyway?

I had on makeup too but no crazy wings or anything like that. I was wearing the basic contour/highlight combo, eyeshadow, mascara, and dark lipstick. Casey had a similar face on.

Honestly, both of my best friends looked great tonight. Casey was wearing a low cut white tank top with a black pencil skirt, and an embroidered olive green hunter jacket with a black choker. Janet had some gold pants on, and a white crop top with gold hoop earrings. Both had their hair up in high ponytails.

We were so gonna slay this party.

"Janet, hurry!" Casey griped. "The music's turning up!"

Janet looked extremely focused on her task. "Just... hold on..." She murmured while extending her right wing a bit.

Casey had enough though. She got out of the car and rolled her eyes. "Eff this. I came for booze." She muttered while walking towards the house. I chuckled.

Janet finally finished her wings, (which looked absolutely killer, if I might add), and we strutted towards the house. "The night is ours, babe." Janet whispered ad she linked her arm through mine. I nodded in agreement.

Hopefully.

When we entered the house, we were hit by the basic party scenario. People making out, red cups in hand, some grinding, and the usual dumb stunts. But for some reason, I had a feeling in my gut that something about tonight was different.

"I'm going off towards Casey. Hopefully she's not doing body shots for some rando right now." Janet shook her head apologetically and left, leaving me alone.

What was I gonna do?

I headed over to the drink table, and I was surprised to see Tara there. "Hey, Tara!"

"Ellliiizzzaaa." She giggled as she gave me a huge hug. She reeked of alcohol. "Welcome to my palace!! I'm the queen!" Tara gestured around her living room. Yup, it definitely looked big enough to be a palace.

"Tara, are you okay?" I grabbed her arm, trying to steady her.

"Yup" She grinned. Suddenly she clutched her stomach. "Nope."

Tara rushed over to a nearby flowerpot and started vomiting probably everything in her stomach. I held  her curly black hair in my hands and patted her on the back sympathetically. "Let it all out, Tara."

She groaned. "Thanks Liz, you can go. I need to be somewhere."

"Wait! You're not driving anywhere are you?" I exclaimed.

"Nononono. I just need to go upstairs." She laughed. "Catch ya later boo!" Tara ran up the stairs, still clutching her stomach painfully. I winced. I remember how that felt like.

Getting drunk off your ass.

I made my way to the dance floor. Several other couples were doing the usual grind (I fake gagged), but a handful of them were actually dancing like what you might do at a nightclub or a school dance. I stood alone, swaying to the music.

But you put on quite a show

Really had me going.

Now it's time to go

Curtains finally closing.

I moved my hips to the mellow beat of Take a Bow, really feeling the song. Honestly, I didn't even know why they were playing this at a party, but I loved it.

I opened my eyes.

That's when I saw the strangest thing.

Across the room, a man was staring at me.

Truly staring at me. Not the checking-me-out kind of way, but a i-want-to-examine-your-soul kind of way. I was slightly freaked out.

I shot him a quick glare and went back to swaying to the music. A minute later and the song was over. I was heading over to keg when I saw it.

He was still staring. In the exact same position as before.

What the hell? I didn't wanna have to put up with this creep tonight. I stormed over to him and when I reached his presence...

Damn.

Not just damn. Like holy crap I wanna screw the hell out of this beautiful creature damn.

He had dark brown hair swept to one side, which was styled pretty messy, but I'm sure that was intentional. He had Emerald Green eyes and what was probably a symmetrical face. His cheekbones were highest of the high. I won't even get started on the rest of his body. It's as perfect as you would imagine.

"Hello, Eliza." He smiled.
