My shoes were aching. Very bad.

I was on the way home from a long day at school. MacKenzie definitely gave me more than hell today.

It was probably a hundred degrees! Sweat was trickling down the side of my face until it found its way to my cleavage. I hate it when it that happens.

"FML." I groaned at the sky.

I was still probably two blocks from my house. I picked upmy pace, already envisioning the Netflix, pizza, and Kool Aid when I got home. I licked my lips.

My white hair was sticking to my forehead. That's one of the family gifts I had. Snow white hair, with a touch of silver. I chose to wear my inheritance at a shoulder length bob.

I was crossing one of the side streets when I suddenly heard a muffled cry from the woods in the park.

"What the-?" Should I go in there? It could be a murderer in there. Or even worse, a CLOWN!

I shuddered and repressed the urge to run away. What if somebody in there needed my help...

"Screw it." I dashed into the woods, making sure to keep my steps quiet. I finally reached a clearing and what I saw made my blood run cold.

A woman was tied to a tree, duct tape over her mouth. Two men holding guns were advancing towards her.

Even worse, she was pregnant.

Oh god. I put a hand over my mouth. What the heck should I do??

I immediately reached for my phone to call the police. The two men were pressing the gun against her chest, seemingly teasing her.

"Come on, Laura." One of them sneered. "How come only Marks got a piece of you?"

"Yeah, we want some of that for ourselves." The other one laughed cruelly. His eyes strayed down to her chest.

All Laura could do was struggle and tears were streaming down her face. Oh my gosh. I repressed the urge to cry myself. I needed to do something!

The men came even closer. I was on full on panic mode. The nearest police station was almost an hour away from where my neighborhood was. The situation seemed helpless.

Unless...

Suddenly, the taller man of the two pressed his body against Laura. She let out a high scream. More tears fell.

"If you ain't gonna give us what we want, Laura..." He smirked. He gestured to the short man.

He pressed his gun against Laura's stomach.

That's it.

There's no other option.

I saw red. I sprung out of the trees and charged to the two men. They were shocked and didn't react immediately. Big mistake.

I grabbed the karambit in my purse and swung it against the taller man's face. He screamed in pain. The shorter one immediately lunged for me with both arms. I grabbed one of his arms and his leg. Using the weight of my body, I flipped him over my shoulder. He groaned.

The taller man was on his feet again. He threw a few punches at my face and stomach but I easily dodged them. He attempted to kick me but I ducked low and fiercely stabbed my karambit through his thigh.

"SHIT!" He clutched his thigh and fell to the ground. I proceeded to the short one. Before he could get himself steady, I slammed him against the nearest tree. I heard a cracking sound and I had a feeling it wasn't the tree.

Using my right arm, I held his neck against the trunk and kneed him down there several times. Over and over again  until there were tears streaming down his face.

I enjoyed it.

I stopped my torture on his jewels and drew a thin line with my karambit against his neck.

"Leave." I growled.

I didn't need to say it again. Both of them left as fast as they could, limping and bloody.

I turned towards Laura and immediately cut her ropes. She relaxed and sighed in relief. But she didn't get out of her chair. She seemed stuck to it.

Confused, I looked at her.

In her eyes were fear. Horrible, petrifying fear. She was clearly terrified of me. Her eyes were glassy with tears.

Soon, mine were too. I was as scared as much as Laura was.

Of myself.

I turned and ran away.

From what, I don't know.
