Cabin Redecoration 2

Days 3-7

It was decided that there would be phases so that all cabins weren't simultaneously in a state of disrepair and that campers could still sleep somewhere. Phase 1 included cabins 1-8 and 2 from 9-13. Phase 3 would be for the new cabins, if any required a makeover. Thankfully the Athena and Hephaestus cabins already had a briefing from Annabeth and they turned out to be the first two to be done in their slots; they were required to help the others due to 'skills'.

While cabin 9 looked like it was right out of a non-mainstream architecture magazine, it offered plentiful practicalities that the others didn't, at least not yet. The outside was a brown mixed with yellow, orange, red and blue - probably signifying flames. If it wasn't reminiscent of a forge earlier, it sure looked like a pretty interesting one now. Hollywood would be awed with the exterior of the building itself, never mind all the crazy contraptions inside.

"Hello! Earth to Dom. Would you stop admiring that cabin and help make ours even better?"

"Sorry, their cabin's just awesome though. I'm coming."A newbie replied to Clarisse, who was an overseer for discipline, a trait the Greeks apparently lacked.

In the distance, the Athena campers heaved a sigh of relief on finally being able to see their own workmanship. They were aware of the fact that the other cabins would get to take their help soon and called it a night early. Piper called Leo and Jason outside after the campers went to bed.

"I suggest we Iris Annie about the progress. She'll be surprised for once."

"Could we do it in the old attic? There are plenty of cobwebs there, if you get it."

"Well Fireman, that would've been a good idea, except you forgot we won't be able to get a good 'signal' or whatever the mortals called it, in there", Piper rebuked.

"Fireman though? Nice nickname. I think I'll call you that now." Jason couldn't help but get a fit of laughter.

Leo sighed. The others were too busy laughing at him so he decided to run off.

"Wait who called him that first?"

"Reyna."

"Wait, she made that up?"

"Probably not on the spot."

"Wait a sec. Where's Leo?"

"He's right... Not here. Oh no!!"

Leo in the meanwhile went to the Poseidon cabin to meet Percy.

"Ssup, Leo? Why come at this unearthly hour?"

"I'm telling you. Jasper are being meanies. They're calling me a fireman. At least they could call me a firebender, like Zuko or Mako"

"Finally!! Another Avatar fan. Welcome to the fandom."

"Thanks. You're missing the point. I'm fed up of them testing my patience like this."

Percy feigned a look of interest.

"Really?"

"I need to get to the Stolls for pranking equip. These two need to learn not to mess with me!"

"Let's both go then. Oh wait. Jason's supposed to persuade a newbie to get a makeover. Maybe we could have Jason join in too?"

"At the Love cabin? Definitely. You tell him that he'll escort the camper while I tell them that both are up for the challenge."

"It's a deal. Imagine if they decided to turn him pink."

"Like a ballet dancer."

"Maybe like the ones at Broadway."

"That'd be a riot."

Eventually Leo fell asleep on Percy's spare bed.

The next day, the two were woken up by the Hephaestus cabin when they realised Leo was missing. They were soon dragged out and told that their sleeping faces were already viral on demigod social media. They gasped on seeing comments of 'Lercy'. The horror! Turned out Jason and Piper found Leo and decided to Iris Annabeth there itself.

After lunch break, Jason was free and Reyna made him show the newbies around the camp. Percy nudged Jason, reminding him of the prank.

Jason took them, showing them the 'tourist' spots. Most of them were still unclaimed, so they had no idea where to stay. The Artemis cabin was to be used for females as Thalia gave them permission. Everyone else was to use the Hera cabin, after the Hecate Spellcasters put protective wards over it.

A voice piped up, "What on earth is that building?"

Jason replied, "Just the newly done Hephaestus cabin. We aren't letting you go into that cabin though. Stuff in there is not verifiably safe."

The newbies complete the tour and Jason has a Q and A session with the lot. Piper and Leo had a break around that time. They enter the Aphrodite cabin and make their 'announcement'.

Drew and her group were excited, already theorising over what to do with Jason. They were waiting for this for a long, long time. It was surprising that Piper just gave them that chance so easily. Leo and Piper hastily exit the cabin to find Jason.

Superman looked like he was done with the orientation. Jason was tired, but this one camper just kept at the questions. His patience was wearing. Finally, Jason spotted the duo glaring at him.

Uh oh! Jason explained that he had somewhere to go but would take the camper to a place where all questions would be answered. Leo and Piper stayed there for a while, then called Percy, who in turn called Nico. The four stood at a vantage spot close to the Aphrodite cabin.

As expected, Jason led the newbie inside. A dozen sets of hands grabbed the two and one could hear a bloodcurdling shriek from the inside.
