I woke up. Hospital monitor still going. It was quiet. And by looking out of the window I could tell it was very early. Small rays of sunlight was just coming over the top of the mountain. Pretty.
I was just staring at it, until something broke the silence. A snore. My heard snapped to the corner behind me. It was Ash. Leaning on two legs off a chair against the wall, head leaned back, snoring so loud. I think he may have also been drooling. I chuckled a little.
Just that small noise was enough to wake him up. His eyes opened wide, chair smacking back to the floor. Making some very strange freak out noises.
This was enough to get me to bust out laughing. The look on his face had been priceless. He had been scared out of his wits, by basically nothing. Hahaha!!
'That was not funny.' He stated. 'Um, yes it was.' !I laughed a little more.
He stood over my bed and shook his head a little, and chuckled. He knew it was funny. Haha
I stopped laughing, and realized all the questions I had for him. 'Ash, where am I?' He looked up at me with a strange expression. I couldn't tell what was running through his mind. 'You're in the academies hospital wing.
At the mention of The Academy, memories flooded my mind. We were young, me and Ash. Out on my tree swing. It was a really long time ago. He was trying to recruit me. To get me to go to the academy, but I had said no. He kept coming back, day after day for years to try and convince me to go. I never gave in. He told me that they could train me, that I was special. That I could do things that other people couldn't. I didn't listen.
Over that period of time I had made my one and only friend. My best friend. And them one day, he stopped coming. I never saw him again until what I guessed was a couple days ago.
I shook off those memories. I had things that I needed to know.
'So, how long have been out?' I asked. 'Three days.' Was his reply.
'What?? I had been out that long? Why? What was wrong with me?'
'Well,' he said. They ran some brain tests. And they have no clue.'
I leaned my head up against the wall. Thinking about it. This was weird.
Ash held out his hands to me. 'C'mon Q, you've been asleep for so long, let's get you cleaned up and get you some food. If I were you I would be starving.'
And with that, I realized just how hungry I was. So, I got up.
