To Be a Mermaid (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter: Two

They shook hands, sealing the deal.
"You have exactly one month" Sasha said.
"One month?" Aphmau exclaimed in disbelief. How could she make someone fall in love with her in One month!?

"You better hurry. Also, you will need these" sasha handed Aphmau a neklace with a purple shell on it and a purple purse. She was just about to ask why when suddenly, they disappeared.
"Hello?" Aphmau swam around her cave.
'Teleportation magics...' she thought.

Only whole mermaids have powers. Halfmer's (Half Mermaids) can't even breathe underwater. Aphmau put on the neklace.
'If i only have one month to do this, i need to leave now' she thought.

She swam out of her cave then began to swim up to the surface. She wasn't a fast swimmer, another disadvantage of being a halfmer. Since mermaids live in the deepest, and darkest, part of the ocean it takes awhile to get up to the surface.

Once she was away from the village lights, it began to get dark. The shell neklace lit up which gave Aphmau enough light to see.
"That's convenient..." she mumbled.

Once she saw light from the sun, she knew she was getting close. Once she finally reached the waters surface, she thought if she should go up or not.
"Here goes nothing" she said as she lifted her head up.

The bright sun and silence greeted her. The water was calm and there weren't any boats out on the water. She was about 100 feet away from the shore. She quickly swam towards it and climbed on land. Immediately, her dark and light purple tail melted away revealing human legs.

Her eyes widened once she realized that she didn't have any clothes. She quickly ran back into the water.
"TRAVIS! I SWEAR WHEN I FIND YOU, YOU'RE SO DEAD!" A dark haired male ran onto the beach. Aphmau hid behind a rock. Her tail was back.

He looked annoyed and angry. 'I should of thought this more out...' Aphmau thought.
She saw some girls walk onto the beach. They were both wearing sun dresses. They took them off revealing their bathing suits. They left their dresses in the sand then walked towards the black haired guy.

"Hey, aaron" A black haired girl began to flirt with him. There was also a red haired girl.
"Uh... hey Lilly, Sherrie" Aaron awkwardly greeted back.
"Are you looking for somebody?" The black haired girl, Lilly, asked.
"Yea, Travis. Have you seen him? He put a ton of insects in my pillow case" Aaron explained.

"I know where he went! Follow me!" The red haired girl named Sherrie exclaimed. Aphmau watched as they all walked off. They had left their sundresses. Aphmau knew it wasn't right to steal but in this situation, what else could she do? She didn't have any human clothes.

When the coast was clear, she climbed back on land. Her tail immediately disappeared. She grabbed one of the sundresses, which was lilac, and put it on. She ran off of the beach and towards the town. She really needed to buy some clothes.

After awhile, Aphmau remembered the purse that sasha had gave her. She opened it and inside revealed many strange greenish pieces of paper. She picked one up that had a number '100' on it.
"Don't go showing money around like that or someone might steal it" Aphmau turned around and saw the guy from earlier. Aaron.
"Speaking of stealing, is that Lilly's dress? Why'd you take it?" Aaron asked Aphmau.
"I'm sorry, who are you to accuse me of stealing?" Aphmau crossed her arms. A stern look on her face.
"Ok, Nevermind. The name's aaron" aaron blushed from embarrassment.
'Holy shellfish that actually worked...' Aphmau thought.

"My name's Aphmau" she greeted.
"Well... i apologize for accusing you of stealing..." Aaron nervously rubbed the back of his head.
"It's fine" Aphmau reassured.
"Well I must make it up to you, how does lunch at the Phoenix Cafe sound? My treat" aaron suggested.
"Now?" Aphmau asked, confused.
"Why not" Aaron smiled.

'That was fast...' she thought.
"Sure" she smiled back.

They began to walk towards the cafe. Aaron opened the doors and they both walked inside. She got a lot of stares, which she didn't realize, mostly from guys.
"Woah, who is she?" A guy with dark red hair mumbled as she and aaron walked past their table.

Aphmau sat down and aaron sat across from her.
"Here" Aaron handed her a menu. Aphmau grabbed it and opened it up, confused on what it was. Unlike most mermaids, Aphmau could read. However, she had no idea what these foods were.
The waiter came over.
"Are you guys ready to order?" The waiter asked.

"Can i have the Roasted Turkey Phoenix Pepper sandwich?" Aaron asked.
"Coming right up, what about you miss?" The waiter turned towards Aphmau and smiled. Aphmau looked at the menu. 'What the heck is spaghetti??' She thought.

"I'll have a grilled cheese sandwich, thankyou" Aphmau smiled making the waiter blush.
"C-Coming right up!" He hurriedly ran towards the kitchen.
"So, I'm guessing you're new to Phoenix Drop" Aaron asked.
"Yea! I'm here... visiting a friend!" She exclaimed, quickly coming up with a reason for her being there.

Once there food had arrived, Aphmau found a little peice of paper on her plate. It had numbers on it. Confused, she put it in her purse and began to eat.
"So, how long are you staying?" Aaron asked.
"About a month or so" Aphmau replied.

They began to ask questions about eachother.
"How old are you?"
"17"
"Me to, how long have you been here?"
"I just got here today"

After they had finished their sandwiches, Aaron gave the waiter the money. They left and began to walk down the street.
"Well, i'd better go. My parents left for the summer and I'm in charge of taking care of the house" Aaron stopped and looked at Aphmau.
"It was nice meeting you, here. If you want to hang out, just call me" Aaron took out a peice of paper and a pen. He wrote something down on it then handed it to her.

"Thanks. I will, bye!" Aphmau said as she grabbed the paper. He waved goodbye.

(HAHA HE WAVED GOODBYE! MORE WATER PUNS! IM SHORE YOU LOVE THEM AS MUCH AS I DO! Sorry... NOT XD)

She turned around and began walking down the street. She looked at the paper and saw numbers written on it. She suddenly remembered, she still needed to buy clothes!
