Nothing is simple

You’ll never be mine,

I know I can’t have you,

And you know exactly why.

I’ve tried moving on,

Been with other guys,

But when I look in the mirror,

I can see my web of lies.

I feel myself drifting,

Unable to find my way,

I never truly had you,

I force myself to shove down the pain.

I can’t help but miss you,

Each time you go away,

But you work way back,

Promising you’ll stay.

Knowing you’ll leave sooner,

If I express how I feel,

Knowing I love,

But it will never be for real.
