danny has always liked you.
i've always known.
he used to pester me about hooking you two up.
you're too good for him.
he would laugh when i said that as if i was teasing him,
but i was serious.
he likes to play the bad boy card.
he doesn't know what actual feelings are.
he dated a girl once just to see if she would cry when he left her.
i never told you that.
you always thought danny was a nice dude.
it just never seemed right to burst the image you had of him.
i wish i did.
it's making me sick,
watching you two lean together in the cafeteria.
he's only going to hurt you.
"ow, babe, what's your problem?"
i jump, a bit startled at the sound of sasha's annoyed voice.
she's giving me a strange look.
i glance down at my hand locked in hers.
"sorry," i mumble, loosening my grip.
she stares at me as if i've told her brussels sprouts are my favorite food,
then eventually goes back to her conversation with her girlfriend.
i look back to you,
but neither of you are at the table anymore.
