SIXTEEN, TWENTY-FOUR

//CHAPTER 2//

Summer of 2006, Cavite

There are two things that I’m scared of the most in this world.

Blood. And…

Jelly Martinez.

She’s a thug.

That’s why I’m scared of her.

But that’s not the only reason.

It’s because she knows me well.

She can see right through my poker face. It’s annoying.

She’s scary because she knows me well.

She’s scary because I always lose when it comes to her.

She’s scary because she makes me a person I’m originally not.

Kagaya ngayon.

Ako ang gumagawa ng Math assignment niya.

If I’m on my usual self, I won’t ever do this. It’s not like me at all.

“Very good, Jam!

Nakakainis.

I’m not her servant.

I’m not her brother.

Why do I keep losing to her!?

“Oh tapos na.”
