Dare we drink the dregs of doom
and crave the savory poisons too
As we toast the bride and groom
married with nothing we could doAre we who dance not wholly to blame
for this tragedy and hidden pain?
As they plot a future without shame
we drift on a dark and lingering refrainFor beasts they are that play the role
in darkness deep and lessons old
Yet they abscond with treasured souls
and there our sympathies now they holdPseudo tears and stretched out smiles
Here we wear them all the while
Happy not that they were caught
in the web we all boughtYet we who love this company
join them to our misery
Speak not now nor give release
Forever we must hold our peace
