This really irritates me fr, people have told me this before thinking that it's a compliment 😒. Like damn I can't just be pretty? Im sorry that can't be as pretty as the next white girl in line because of my skin color
I'm really starting to lose faith in our society, just the way people treat our race like we're less than.
Beauty shouldn't have a race.
One strong black girl that I admire is Alicia Keys. She embraces who she is inside and out, she's fearless and confident wearing her natural hair and not wearing makeup.
I just wish girls of our race could feel less insecure and more confident walking out the house these days. There has been so many times where I'm like:
I'm not gonna wear any makeup
But then I really take a look at myself in the mirror without makeup and I just can't walk out the house without it on 🙁. Because I always know that I'll feel confident with my makeup on
Until someone says: you look pretty for a black girl
