Captain Levi's Apology (Levi x Eren)

They Wanted to Go Home

I flew after the monsters. Cut out their eyes, sliced up their necks. There were so many fucking titans I have no idea how I didn't die right away. Everyone's shouts, "Eren! Come back! You fucking dumbass! You'll die!" So many people cared about me, and I was willing to let them down and die avenging my friend. These bastards took my mother, they took marco, they took so many lives, and homes. My hatred had never been so powerful. Luckily, those shadowing me killed the titans I didn't and soon the town was clear. I landed on a rooftop, shaking, and sank to me knees, screaming... Sobbing. Levi, Jean, and Petra found me first. Aurou and Sasha came next and I didn't ask where mike was. I didn't want to know.

"Are you fucking deaf Eren or are you just stupid? You almost got us all killed, suicidal bastard!" I looked up at him with wide eyes, not being able to say anything. His image became blurry and I sobbed harder.

"Don't yell at him Kirstein!" Levi scolded and kicked him. Petra had her arm around me in attempt to calm me down.

"A-armin and mike. They're g-gone too... I couldn't do anything. They're gone. They're gone." I whimpered. I heard flares going off, I didn't look to see what colour they were. I heard horses running up, and I didn't bother to see who it was. I recognized the new voices as Erwin, Mikasa, and Christa returning.

"We might be all who's left, us and hanji's squad," Christa reported "it's not confirmed but we can't find anyone. We got the abberant... And we saw all it did. All those bodies.." She said softly. I looked up and her face was buried in her hands.

"Luckily we found some more horses.. We should go back" Mikasa suggested. Her face was streaked with tear lines- 'she must have seen him' I thought.

Erwin and Levi both nodded, and everyone moved to get on a horse. I was frozen in place. Levi stayed behind the others and helped me stand. He had his arms wrapped around my torso and soon enveloped me in a tight hug.

"I'm sorry.. Eren I'm so sorry. We're going to get you home and make you okay. I'm right here, so quit sobbing alright? We're going home." I clung to him, not really caring if our comrades noticed. A few seconds passed and soon my breathing was normal and my crying stopped. The corner of Levi's mouth turned up, ever so slightly and he leaned up to kiss me.

It was a soft kiss, and was salty from either him sweating or tears left over from me. But it was comforting, and not enough. I pouted when he pulled away and he shook his head.

"I love you brat"

"I love you too corporal"

"Let's go"

I nodded and we moved off the roof and onto our horses. Soon enough we were off. Late afternoon came, and unfortunately there were still hours of daylight, and the danger of more titans. Everybody was tired and just wanted to get home. We pushed though, oh my god we persevered so many miles, and to this day I don't know how nobody fell off their horse.

Of course we couldn't get a break. I heard rumbling, felt the ground shake, and looked at levi in fear.

He turned to everyone "prepare yourselves" he warned. 'Please be small. Please. Be a dumb four meter class. I don't want to transform." I prayed. The second levi told us to be prepared, a huge mean looking Titan, and two smaller ones burst out of the trees- of course. I swore and soon we all moved to the trees.

"Ackerman. Help me get the small ones. Everyone else try to get the big bastard until we can help" levi barked and we nodded. They made an easy job of killing the small ones. They were slow, and stupid. We turned to the big one, which had spotted us.

"Aberrant" Erwin spit and shook his head.

"We can kill it" I turned to him and nodded "we've got to." It was fast though.. Almost too fast.

"Distract it. Levi, jean, Mikasa, Eren, you do too. But try to kill it." Erwin said sternly "I'll help"

"Yes sir!" We replied, and got to work.

"Sasha! Its eyes!" Petra yelled, "we've got one of its arms to go limp for a while, just blind it!" Sasha nodded and Erwin was by her side, knives drawn. I'd been helping to slice the muscles in its shoulder when I saw levi flying towards it, ready to kill. I saw its arm lifting. I saw it was too late before the thing even grabbed the cords that were buried in its shoulder.

"No-" I whispered. The hooks found flesh and the good hand found the cords.

"NO-!"
