Later that night as Marinette sketches in her notebook on the terrace, Chat appears.
"Hey Princess, what's up?"
"Nothing much." Marinette said. Chat still doesn't know about the move and he had been respectfully quiet about the night she had a breakdown. He acted like everything was completely normal, but Marinette knows that he is dying to know what is going on and why she said that she couldn't be his princess anymore. She knows that she has to tell him tonight and she is completely dreading it.
"I need to tell you something Chat."
"You can tell me anything."
"I know. It's about the other night." she says quietly. Chat's ears perk up. He sits by Marinette and nods for her to continue.
"I had just figured out some big news that night and I have been wanting to tell you but I just don't know how, but it isn't fair to keep you waiting." Marinette looks up to see Chat's piercing green eyes looking right into hers, which have tears in them.
"We can't afford the patisserie anymore so we're moving to China with my uncle." She starts to cry and Chat wraps her in a big warm hug.
"It's okay Princess."
"I am so sorry that I didn't tell you sooner. I just couldn't."
"It's okay." Chat says, comforting her. He can't believe that he is going to lose his beautiful princess. The only person that truly understands him and cares about him for who he is. Though he never told her his true Identity, he would tell her how lonely he was and what his life was really like. In that moment he discovers that he is in fact in love with Marinette Dupain-Cheng. He would always love Ladybug in his own little way but in reality she doesn't even know him. He had this beautiful, amazing girl right in front of him and he can't believe that he never noticed his true feelings for her.
After a few minutes, Marinette sits up and looks Chat in the eyes.
"Thank you for always being there for me and understanding me." She says to him.
"No problem princess and thank you for always being there for me."
"Of course." Marinette was going to miss Chat so much. He would listen to all of her problems and make her laugh. She hated to admit it but she was going to miss his awful puns, or should she say pawful puns?
"I guess you are going to have to find a new princess, huh?" Chat looks at her seriously, stands up, and gently pulls her to her feet. He puts his hand on her cheek and wipes away a stray tear with his thumb. Marinette looks up at him, captivated by his glowing eyes and realizes that she has fallen in love with Chat without noticing. All of those nights when he would come to her terrace to visit her and talk about his problems and listen to hers. She learns that even though she doesn't know who Chat is, she knows who he is. She knows his personality and that's all that matters. She still loves Adrien in a way but realizes that she has a genuine connection with Chat that she doesn't have with Adrien. Chat is always there for her and cares about her in a way that no one else does.
"Marinette. You will always be my one and only Princess." Chat whispers. He leans in and kisses Marinette passionately. "I love you Marinette." he says as he breaks away.
"I love you too Chat." She replies, wondering if this is a dream. Their lips meet again and she never wants this moment to end.
