Marinette sits in her bed and sighs. Last night was the best night of her life. After the big kiss, Chat told her that he might be able to get in touch with someone that he knows and get the money that could potentially help the patisserie. All that Marinette has to do is tell her parents that she might have found someone who could give them the money so that they could stay, and convince them to hold off on packing and closing the patisserie. She walks down the stairs to the kitchen, where her mom is making french toast.
"Mom! Guess what!"
"Well you seem happy today." Sabine says with a small giggle.
"That's because I am. Now guess what!"
"What?"
"I think I found someone who can help us save the bakery!" Marinette exclaims as she jumps up and down.
"What do you mean?" Sabine asks with a curious expression.
"Well, a friend of mine said that he knows someone who could maybe loan us money to keep the patisserie. I am not sure who yet but he said that he is going to see if they will do it!"
"Who is this friend?" Sabine asks skeptically
"No one, just a friend."
"I don't know about this Marinette. You almost no information on this. We have to order our plane tickets today. Give me more information and me and your father will talk about it."
"I won't get to talk to my friend until tonight"
"Well, that is how it is going to be. The sale on tickets ends today at 6:00, you have until 5:00 to get me information."
"Fine." Marinette says with a sigh. Hopefully the person Chat knows will say something today or this whole plan will be flushed down the toilet and she will be stuck on a plane heading to China. Without Chat.
Marinette walks to school worrying about the plan. She only realizes that she is supposed to tell Adrien her feelings today as approaches the school and it's too late to come up with an excuse. Alya has seen her and is smirking. Marinette has a small, invisible panic attack as Alya walks towards her.
"Hey Girl! You ready?" Alya says enthusiastically.
"Ready for what?" Marinette asks knowing exactly what Alya is talking about. She is hoping that she can stall long enough to come up with a good excuse.
"You know what I am talking about."
"As a matter-of-fact I have no idea what you are talking about."
"Stop stalling Mari! Just do it!" Alya says pointing at Adrien, who is talking to Nino in front of the school doors.
'Well there goes that idea' Marinette thinks.
"You said that I have to tell him before I leave Alya. I still have a week." She says hoping that Alya will buy into her little scheme. If she can find a way to get Alya off of her back for today, she might not even have to worry about telling her that she found someone new. Marinette knew that she could NOT tell Alya about Chat. She would completely freak out.
"Marinette! You have to tell him today. This is your last day at school. What are you gonna do? Show up at his house the day you leave?"
"I don't remember you telling me how I have to tell him. I just have to tell before I move. And yes, I might tell him the day I leave. That way it will seem... spontaneous!" Marinette says in an arrogant manner.
"Ugh, whatever. I give up." Alya sighs annoyingly, knowing that she has been defeated. "Let's get to class." The best friends walk towards the door when they hear a familiar voice.
"Marinette!" Adrien says. Marinette and Alya both turn around in surprise.
"Hey Adrien!" Alya says smiling an evil smile as she pushes Marinette towards Adrien. "I need to get something from my locker before I go to class! Nino, you wanna come with me?" She says, looking at Nino then to Adrien and Marinette then back to Nino with a smile plastered on her face.
"Uhh...yeah! Definitely! " Nino says. He quickly caught on to Alya's plan and followed her inside, leaving Adrien and Marinette alone.
"I have some great news!" Adrien says with a smile.
