Loud giggles erupted from the playground as little Ruby slid down the slide all by herself. Josh beamed, very proud of the girl. She was getting so big so fast, he could hardly keep up.

"Again! Again!" Ruby cried happily as she wobbled to her feet towards her dad. Josh cracked his back comfortable and picked up his daughter. "Yay!"

He gently placed Ruby on top of the shiny, blue slide that was perfect for the girl. It wasn't very long, so to her it seemed like she was going as fast as a rocket ship, but in reality, it was was much safer. "Okay, wait for daddy to get to the end, then slide your heart out."

"Wheeeee!!!" She laughed the whole way down until she fell into Josh's arms. "Again!"

Josh sighed. "Honey, dad's really tired okay? Why down you play for a bit, while I sit and watch yeah?"

Ruby had a sad face, but she nodded her head telling him it was okay.

"Okay little one, I'll be right over here if you need me. Stay safe." Josh gave a big wet kiss on the side of her head and hugged her tight, making loud giggles erupt from her lips.

"Otay." She smiled and ran over to the rocking horse.

Josh stood in his place watching his daughter for a moment, then sat down at a nearby bench. There wasn't anyone else at the park, so he wasn't too worried.

Ruby was having the time of her life and it filled Josh with joy to see his daughter laugh and play.

The past few months have been dreadful for the Duns, but this was nice. For once, and Josh knew this was horrible, but for once Ruby wasn't thinking about her mom.

She was truly a horrid person. Josh hated himself for staying with her as long as he did, but he got a wonderful little girl out of it. She was a cheater, liar, and a beater.

Josh shook his head and ran his hand through his matted hair. He really needed a shower and some rest.

The man felt like he was on television verge of passing out.

Josh yawned loudly, his thin lips stretching has he did so. But then he opened his eyes, seeing the dull, grey sky. His face turned to one of confusion.

The more he woke, the more he remembered. He was outside......at a park.....with his daughter.

Immediately his heart sank as he jumped to his feet. "Ruby!?" He cursed when he didn't get a reply.

"Nononononon!" The curly brunette searched through the park and surrounding areas, asking a few people about her.

He suddenly stopped, dropping to his knees. Josh was having a panic attack. His breathing was uneven, his hands pulled at his dark locks and his eyes were overflowing.

He knew something like this would happen.

"WHY!?" Josh screamed, hitting his fists on the damp ground. "Why am I so stupid!?" Josh asked himself over and over.

Why would he just leave her by herself? How could he just fall asleep suddenly. So selfishly?

"GODDAMN IT!"

Ruby sighed. She was bored.
