To my dearest friend...

You are invited to a masquerade ball on the night of Halloween.
Costumes and masks are expected.

The invitation read, and underneath a note had been scribbled.

I know you are a creature, my dear, but I simply couldn't leave you off my list. And anyway, when was the last time you socialised with humans? They're better than you remember I promise.

The man who invited you was known to be an eccentric, and so this invitation hardly came as a surprise. You know Halloween would make it difficult hiding what you are, but it being a costumed masquerade perhaps you could get away with it. All you had to do was make sure the humans didn't realise what you are.

Except, and the man was please with this plan, you weren't the only creature he'd invited. In fact, only a handful of humans were invited and they were simply invited to make the evening more... interesting.

(Basically a load of creatures have been invited to a ball, all thinking they're the only creature there. They have to attempt to hide what they are for the night. I'm only publishing this part now to get an idea for numbers so please comment if you're interested.)
