22. A Dark Encounter

"Is that.. Naruto!?"

"My charioting a woman along is unseen."

"We do not exist in different worlds, Sakura."

"I do believe Orochimaru has a soft spot for him. Perhaps," his smile falters, "he sees a different light of Sasuke where most fail."

Intertwined in it is another colour this time. My heart drops to my stomach.
What- what is happening to me?

"A summons for us."
"From?"
Sasuke hesitates. "The god of underworld."

23. Two Worlds

I thought I knew and felt the most ultimate fear when I witnessed a being burn to his death under the torment of sinister black flames. The memory sends a chill down my spine.
Now, we have been summoned by Hades himself.

God forgive what I did wrong in my life to deserve this.

I barely make it two steps before my knees crash to the floor and my guts spill out. I knew I wasn't strong enough to stomach such a sight. It is one thing to read about these evils and completely another to see it happen before your very eyes.

The indelible screech of Orochimaru's agony in his final moments will forever remain in my mind. It doesn't matter that it was him who was burnt by Sasuke's fury. It is that being burnt alive is an inhumane end. And to think such an act was carried out by someone I have entrusted my life to is a lot more than demoralizing.

"Sakura, are you alright?" asks the god.

"No. No, I am not," I reply, moving away from my vomit. Is he not disgusted yet?

"I am sorry you had to see that," he murmurs after prolonging a pause.

"You killed him!" I exclaim in disbelief and then look away, mumbling, "You don't even regret it."

"Darkness can never be destroyed, Sakura."

My brows form a crease. It takes me a full minute to catch on.

"Orochimaru will return?" I stare.

He offers an unenthusiastic nod and crosses his arms as if disapproving the idea. Momentarily, I am stumped. Really? The return of Vomit Eyes? Is that what I was fishing for?

Under the dim lighting, it is easy to hide my fear of Sasuke himself though. I am quite shaken by his violence and I'd rather not be close to him while it is still fresh enough that I can feel it on my skin. The thought makes me feel criminally bad.

"You need to rest," concludes the god, looking around at the mess I made and then back at me.

I shake my head. "We have to go. In case you ignored it, we have been summoned by the freaking god of underworld."
