Prologue
After I graduated culinary school in New York, I moved back to live with my grandmother and help out in her restaurant. With my degree, my grandmother would urge me to apply in five star restaurants, or trainee positions mentored by Michelin star chefs from all across the globe, but I refused. It's not my dream. The glitz and glamour is just not for me. I love my grandmother's restaurant and its small but homey space. Whipping up good quality food, serving customers, and putting smiles on their faces – is what I live for every day.
Our days would start with breakfast – more often than not, just coffee, after which we visit the town market to gather supplies for the day, and the rest of the morning would be setting up the restaurant before the clock strikes twelve. I, along with my friend Cass, and my grandmother Deborah, would be serving customers in our quaint restaurant along the streets of Manhattan. However, this is not an ordinary day, and this is not Manhattan. And many of you would wonder why I would be standing here – in front of this palace, which is strangely located on top of a hill.
Well, folks. From this day forward, I will be cooking for the Prince of Monaco. How it all started and why, let me tell you what happens after this page.
