"Y/n, I swear" Kaia, started to complain to me. "Math is not my thing!"
I laughed, staring at my graded paper. I got a C+. Not bad, considering it's Math and how much I hate it. I thought as I leaned over to my left to see Kaia's grade.
"Staying quiet isn't either." A voice, errupted from my right and joined the conversation.
Kaia leaned forward on her desk to get a full view of the guy I was blocking and retorted sarcastically. "But, minding my own business is!" She picks up the first thing she gets her hand on, which was a highlighter pen, and threw it at him. "Unlike you, Daniel."
Swiftly, he caught the pen and frowned at her while he clicked his tongue. "Always so hostile, Gerber." He shook his head. "No wonder you're single." He smirked, looking down at the graded paper the teacher just handed him.
In an instant, Kaia shuffled to move towards him and I held her at the shoulders to keep her in her seat. "Whoa. Chill, bitch." I whispered and broke a smile.
Although we both knew she was playing, George acted as if the attempted attack was real and pretended to dodge. "Right." He added.
"Let me at him, just this one time, Y/n." She pleaded and I grinned as I shook my head. The bell rang just then and George slammed his hand on the desk which had a dramatic effect. "Let her, Y/n." He smirked. "We both know she wants me." And with that, he left, running for his life and I broke out laughing as Kaia chased him out of the room and in the hall.
I picked up my things, then Kaia's and went out the room behind them. I walked at a much slower pace than them both, of course, watching them. They've been at each other's throats since sophomore year. They actually used to be close. If I remember correctly, George Daniel was Kaia's best friend before I was. I never knew what happened. Now, I was wondering.
I stopped at my locker and set down the things I was carrying when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out and viewed the message.
It was from an unknown number.
"Hey, fiction."
I smiled, knowing right away exactly who it was. I was about to type in a reply but another text stopped me.
"I have a question."
I felt my smile grow bigger so I bit my lip to hide it.. from myself and wrote back.
"Ask away."
"Why is your best friend over there about to kill mine?" A voice from behind startled me and interrupted me from my moment. I turned around to see Matty looking at me with sparkling eyes. At least I thought they sparkled. My mouth hung open and I pressed my lips as I realized it. I blinked once, trying to take in the situation. "What?"
He nodded in George and Kaia's direction but kept his eyes on me. I looked to the right to see the two bickering and turned back to Matty. I let out a breath. "George was being sarcastic and she was being moody." I explained and he nodded.
"Hey, so what about that ice cream?" He mused as he leaned on the locker next to mine, facing me. I watched his expression softened as he grinned. "What about that ice cream?" I closed my locker after I took Kaia's things and faced him too.
The smile that was growing bigger on his face told me he was enjoying this. "When are we going out?" He raised an eyebrow as he shoved his phone in his pocket. He was looking so hot in front of me right now. I leaned on my locker as well, and smiled, looking at my feet.
