Ginny Weasley was your best friend, and no one could ever come between the two of you. Everyone knew that the two of you were the 'Dream Team'. The two of you did everything together from the very beginning of first year. So, naturally, you visited her at The Burrow quite often.
The two of you were currently sitting on the small couch in front of the fireplace, eating the pie that her mother had generously made for all of the kids. You absolutely adored Mrs. Weasley and you were so grateful to have such a wonderful woman like her to look up to.
"So," Ginny started, looking around to make sure nobody else was in the room, "I think Ron likes you."
"What?" you laughed, almost choking in the piece of pie that you had in your mouth.
"I'm not kidding," she shook her head, "when he found out that you were staying, his face went all red and he didn't speak for the rest of dinner."
"Tell him I'm already dating you," you joked, setting the empty plate down on the table in front of you.
"Oh, come on. He's not that bad, you should give him a chance. Isn't it going to be weird when I'm married to Harry and you're still single, living with all of your cats?" Ginny gently nudged your shoulder with hers, letting out a loud laugh.
"Ew, you still like Harry?" you attempted to change the subject.
"Of course I do, we're meant to be. 5 years of crushing and counting," she grinned at you, setting her plate down as well, "I told Ron to ask you on a date."
"What?" you frowned, shaking your head.
"Y/n! He really likes you! I'm gonna go talk to him about it," Ginny stood up and started to walk out, passing Hermione as she did.
"Oh, hi Hermione!" you greeted her, trying to forget about what Ginny had told you.
"Hi! Did I interrupt your conversation?" she sat down beside you.
"Oh, no, Ginny was just trying to set me up with Ronald," you snorted, rolling your eyes.
"Oh? I could see the two of you together," she nodded before changing the subject, "it took me forever to convince my parents to let me come back over this year. I had to tell them that you AND Ginny would be here so that they didn't think it was all boys."
You nodded along as she spoke, realizing that she probably wasn't going to let you get a word in for a minute. You began tuning her out as she rambled on about her summer assignments, letting your mind drift off to thoughts about Ron. He wasn't ugly, he was actually quite attractive. But he was older than you and he was your best friends brother.
"Are you listening?" Hermione frowned as she saw you look down at your lap.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry!" you smiled sheepishly, letting out a small laugh just as Ginny came running down the stairs.
"I have news!" she grinned, sitting down on the arm of the couch, "Ron does like you, I got it confirmed. He said, and I quote, 'she's an actual angel, I don't understand how she's real'. He really likes you."
"You're ridiculous, Ginny. I didn't come here to fall in love with your brother!" you groaned, leaning back into the couch. Hermione awkwardly patted your shoulder before leaving.
"If you give him one chance, just one little afternoon together, I'll do all of your potions homework for the first month," she looked back at you, raising her eyebrow slightly.
"Really? Okay, deal," you laughed, sitting back up, "I was gonna give him a chance anyway."
"You're an ass!" Ginny groaned, lightly slapping your arm.
Just as the two of you started talking about Luna and Neville, Ron and Harry emerged from the stairs.
"Hey!" Harry greeted, walking over to the two of you; Ron walked up behind him.
"Oh, hi" Ginny smiled up at him, waiting for them to speak.
You waved at Ron, his cheeks flushing as you did so. You let out a small laugh, looking back over at Harry.
"Ron has something he wants to say, but he's a dumb ass and doesn't want to," Harry stepped aside and pushed Ron in front of him.
"Oh," he laughed nervously, looking down at the ground as he spoke, "I was wondering if you, y/n, would like to.. go on a date with me? It wouldn't be anything fancy, just lunch in the garden or something and you don't have to, it's just a suggestion, but it'd be nice if you wanted to," Ron rambled on for a moment while you waited patiently for him to finish. His cheeks were dark red and he couldn't stand still.
"Yeah, Ron," you smiled up at him, "that would be fine. Tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?" he asked, glancing over at Harry, "Um, sure. Yeah."
Harry nodded and pulled Ron back up to Ron's bedroom, giving the two of you an apologetic look. You glanced over at Ginny as they left, trying to stop yourself from laughing.
"He's very.. Awkward?" you said, shaking your head slightly, "I guess we'll see."
