Everyone was down in the kitchen as Mrs. Weasley prepared breakfast. You, Hermione, and Ginny were helping her and it got done much quicker that way. You had prepared bacon, eggs, sausage, and french toast (a request from Harry).
Once the four of you had everyone's plates ready, you sat down at the table. You were sitting inbetween Ginny and Ron, which seemed to make Ron extremely nervous as he dropped his bacon more than one time. You gently nudged your shoulder against his the second time that he dropped it.
"Are you okay?" you asked so that no one else could hear you, furrowing your eyebrows slightly.
"What? Oh yeah, I'm fine," he replied without looking up from his plate.
"Alright," you nodded, "what time do you want to go out there? And should I bring the food?" you asked, watching as he struggled to get the eggs onto his fork.
"Is noon okay? And no, I can bring the food," he finally looked up at you, a small smile on his face.
You nodded once more and finished your breakfast before heading back upstairs with Ginny. The two of you sat on her bed as she brushed her hair out, talking about some boy that she had met. The both of you were pretty popular among boys, but you never gave it any thought and Ginny did.
"Are you excited for your date with Ronnykins?" Ginny teased, moving forward so that she could brush out your hair.
"He doesn't seem excited," you noted as she pulled the brush through your hair.
"He is, he just doesn't want to look weird," she laughed, "he'll be better on the date, I hope."
"Yeah, me too," you replied, "what should I wear?"
"It doesn't matter, he won't care," Ginny put the brush back down and got up to grab a hair clip.
She pulled a strand of your hair back out of your face and pinned it back with the rose clip that she had found. She said that it made you look elegant and classy.
You finally got dressed, choosing a flowery skirt and a black top. Ginny said that you looked like the angel Ron thought you were. You made your way out to the garden, greeting Mrs. Weasley as you went and informing her what you were doing.
"Oh, that's lovely! Ron could use someone like you," she grinned, turning back to cleaning the dishes.
"Hey!" you greeted Ron from across the yard, smiling at him as you walked up.
"Hi," he grinned back, "do you just want to walk around for a bit?"
"Oh, sure. Good thing I wore my boots!" you laughed slightly, falling in step beside him.
"You look really nice," you commented after a few moments of silence.
"Thanks! You do as well, is that Ginny's hair clip?" he asked, nodding towards the clip in your hair.
"Yeah, it is," you smiled, "she said it made me look 'elegant and classy'".
"Of course she would," he replied.
"You seem a lot.. more confident now. Were you okay earlier?" you asked, glancing over at him.
"Oh, yeah," he nodded slightly, "I'm not a morning person."
"What about last night?" you asked again.
"I didn't think you'd say yes," he shrugged.
You nodded and left it at that, looking around at the large yard that sat in front of the Weasley's house. Everything seemed to fit in, even if it really didn't.
You looked over at Ron, "do you like living here?"
"Yeah, I do. It's not much but it's home," he replied, looking over at you as well.
"I think it's beautiful here. It's the most wonderful house that I've seen, and your mother is the sweetest woman I've ever met." you looked up at the house, sliding your hands into the pockets on your skirt.
"Mum thinks you're wonderful, as well," he nodded, following your gaze up to the house.
You had made your way back to the garden and chose to sit down on one of the stone benches. You were facing the house and you could see Mrs. Weasley and Ginny through the kitchen window. They were preparing lunch for everyone. As you looked up at the house, you gently leaning your head against Ron's shoulder, closing your eyes for a moment.
"I wish that this was my actual home, it's so much better than mine," you mumbled, letting out a small sigh.
"You know they'd let you come over anytime," Ron said.
"I know," you replied, opening your eyes once more.
"Thank you," Ron said suddenly, causing you to sit up.
"For what?" you asked him, looking over at him.
"For making Ginny happy and always being so nice towards everyone in my family. Not many people care about us, but you, Harry, and Hermione do."
"Aw, Ron," you smiled warmly at him, reaching your hand over to grab his hand. You gently intertwined your fingers with his.
"and thank you for coming on this poor excuse of a date with me," he laughed slightly.
"I think it's wonderful," you squeezed his hand slightly, leaning your head against his shoulder once more.
