sunburn

My shins and feet and thighs and back and shoulders and face and head
All scalded by the sun and it's rays
The UV penetrating the pores of my flesh
And delving deep to turn me red
And pain me into putting on more cream
The next time I step outside.

I think of the day I have had;
It was brilliant, exciting, new.
But I wish
That I had put on the suncream
To prevent the burn
That is aching my body.

I will regret it more tomorrow.
