Ah, Hamilton ships. So many of them. Most of them I hate with a passion, the only one I like is hamiliza. You might be thinking, "Gurl, the Reynolds Pamphlet." Sure there was that but like in the end, they both really cared about each other.
Now, I'm going to be going through all the ships and hate on them and if you get butthurt about someome not liking Lams, then leave. I'm not ship bashing, I'm basically going to explain, respectfully why I don't like the ships listed.
Lams (John L. X Alexander H.) I do not understand how the hell this is a ship. The only historical evidence that shows lams was "real" was when one of the "lovers" wrote a sexual letter. First of all, it's ONE letter. Second of all, being queer back then was a sin. Third of all, I'm pretty sure whoever wrote the letter was drunk or something else. Fourth of all, IT WAS ONE LETTER. Now in the musical, they give each other "lover looks" which is cute looks but like it's only there twice.
One thing I also hate is how people who ship lams literally forget Eliza existed. They literally erased her from the narrative
Overall, I don't like lams because of those reasons and Tumblr ruined it for me.
Marliza (Maria R. X Eliza H.) If I had to pick a ship besides hamiliza, this would be it. It makes sense in the realest way possible. Alex cheated on Eliza with Maria. Makes sense, they met through the affair. However, I'm not big on it but I don't hate it as much as Lams.
Pheaker (Philip H. X George E.) I hate this ship more than Lams, and that's saying a lot. If you ship this, you are shipping a murderer and it's victim. THE FUCK?! That's basically saying you ship a rapist with its rape victim. You wouldn't do that so why would you ship a murderer with its victim. You might be saying, "Oh, this is an AU so technically George Eaker didn't kill Philip Hamilton." Surprise Beck, these are real people. Alexander Hamilton was a real person, Eliza Hamilton was a real person, Aaron Burr was a real person so what makes George Eaker and Philip Hamilton different.
The rest of the ships are (in my definition) 'How the hell' ships. What I mean by how the hell is how the hell is this a ship. An example is Jeggy (John L. X Peggy) how do they meet?! It makes no sense to me what so ever and here is the list of the ships that are how the hell ships.
-Laurette (John L. X Lafayette)
-Meggy (Maria R. X Peggy S.)
-Leggy (Lafayette X Peggy)
-Washette (Washington X Lafayette)
-Theoliza (Theodosia B. X Eliza H.)
-Elams (Eliza H. X John L. X Alexander H.)
-Magelica (Maria R. X Angelica C.)
-Herculiza (Hercules M. X Eliza H.)
-Burrdoliza (Aaron B. X Theodosia B. X Eliza H.)
-Elaf (Eliza H. X Lafayette)
-JeffMads (Thomas J. X James. M)
-Heggy (Hercules M. X Peggy S.)
-I don't know the name of this ship (Hercules M. X Lafayette)
That's all I can name at this time but one thing they all have in common is they're 'How the hell ships' aka the ships that make no sense. One thing I have noticed is that people fetishize the queer ships and the people who fetishize are usually straight people which is gross and disgusting, coming from a bisexual girl who has "gay" relationships. Also, these were real people who actully existed one time or another.
(I know this rant was short but I just came back from a break)
