Her Decision

Chapter 8

When I woke up the next morning I couldn't believe what had happened. I got engaged! I looked at the beautiful ring on my finger admiring the way the diamonds sparkled in the light coming through my bedroom window. I couldn't wait to be married to Jordan. It all felt like a dream. I decided to go tell my parents since they were in bed when I got home last night.
When I went down stairs mom was making breakfast and dad was at the table drinking his coffee and reading the morning paper. I took a deep breath before walking in and when I did they both stoped what they were doing and engulfed me in a hug. "We're so happy for you honey." Mom said I could tell that she was almost in tears when she said this. "We love you so much Anna." Dad said. After our hug my mom finished breakfast and I sat down at the table next to Dad. Mom set the table and once she was done she asked "when do you plan on having the wedding?" Last night on the way home Jordan told me that he didn't want to wait to get married since we did date for almost a year and a half and anyway I had always wanted a fall wedding. "I think it will be sometime in the fall. Jordan said he wanted a short engagement and I've always wanted a fall wedding." I said "that sounds wonderful" was all she said back. We finished eating and I helped mom clean up. Then I went back to my room. I decided to call Jenny because without her I would never have meet Jordan. The phone rang a few times before she picked up. "Hello?" "Hi Jenny its Anna" "O hi how are you. I was actually just going to call you. I have some big news." "Me too. You go first" I said "Ok Kasey and I are going to have a baby!" She said " that's amazing. How far along are you?" I asked. "About 8 weeks." "Wow. I'm so happy for you." "Thanks. I'm currently in the morning sickness of my pregnancy so Kasey has been pretty worn out lately. I feel kind of bad for him." I could tell she was being sarcastic. I took a beep breath and told her " Jordan and I are getting married" I said the other line was quite for a minute and then I heard her say " that's amazing Anna I can't believe it and I helped bring you two together. Call me Mrs. Matchmaker" she said and I laughed. "I'd like you to be my maid of honor" "Of course, I would love too." We talked a little while longer until I got another phone call. I saw it was Jordan calling I instantly smiled to my self and answered the phone "hi" I said "hay Anna I was wondering if you would like to meet my family?" "O ya definitely" I said. "Ok great I'll be to your house in about 10 minutes" "sounds good see you then"
I got ready then went down stairs to wait. It was only a couple minutes later and he arrived. He came to the door and he and my dad shared a few words and then we where off.
