So this one is a Percabeth one-shot! Yaaaay! Anyways, I didn't specify because I wanted to leave it up to you, but you are to decide whether they are married or not. However, they are living together.
Enjoy!

Percy scrambled around the kitchen, frantically looking back towards the recipe hos mother had lent him. He whipped around to rediscover the ingredients he had hastily placed around the kitchen, grabbing a new mixing bowl and wooden spoon.

Percy was trying to surprise Annabeth. She was supposed to be home from her work trip today. Percy missed his Wise Girl. She had been gone for nearly two months in Europe working with many other renowned architects on a big project with lots of big words, most of which Percy was clueless as to what they meant. He knew his mom's homemade cookies were her favorite, and he thought she could use a little "welcome home" gift.

"Let's see...three teaspoons of vanilla, two sticks of butter..." Percy mumbled, snatching the ingredients from where they rested on the counter. The first batch was already in the oven, but Percy wasn't too confident about those, so he decided to attempt to make a second batch.

Percy became wrapped up in perfecting the next batch that the first one, still in the oven, completely slipped his mind. That is, until a pungent scent overcame his senses.

"What the Hades is tha- oh no, no, no, no, no..." Percy yanked open the oven door and quickly pulled the cookies out. Not a good idea. Percy yelled in pain as the hot cookie sheet seared his skin. He dropped the cookie sheet, sending a few blackened cookies skittering across the floor.

Percy sunk down to the floor and looked at the mess he had created. His eyes latched onto the charred chocolate chip cookies. He stared at the blue-turned-black baked goods until he felt hot tears well up in his eyes and silently slip down his cheeks.

He had just wanted to do something nice for Annabeth, but like everything else, he had just managed to ruin it in some way. Percy hung his head.

Annabeth turned the key. She heard the lock click, and she opened the door to the house she and Percy had bought together. Immediately a wave of acrid fumes found their way to Annabeth's nose. She coughed and walked into the kitchen. There was Percy, sitting on the floor and crying, with charred cookies scattered around him.

She looked around at the rest of the kitchen. There was blue food dye, butter, vanilla, a carton of eggs, and bags of flour, sugar, and chocolate chips spread across the counter. There was a batch of blue cookie dough in a glass bowl sitting on the kitchen counter as well.

Annabeth made her way over to where Percy was sitting and sat on his lap, facing him. She wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. Annabeth lifted Percy's head. She swiped her thumb across his tear-stained cheeks and looked into his sad blue-green eyes.

Percy was the first one to speak up. "I-I-I'm sorry, Annabeth," Percy said as he lowered his head again. "I just wanted to do something nice for when you got home-" he choked, a fresh wave of hot tears spilling from his eyes.

"Hey, Seaweed Brain, look at me," Annabeth instructed sternly. Percy raised his head towards hers. Annabeth's stormy gray eyes bored into Percy's sea-green ones. "You are so sweet. I appreciate all of this more than you know. C'mere," she said, wrapping the son of Poseidon in a hug.

She stood up, and held out her hand for Percy to take. He grabbed her hand, and Annabeth pulled Percy up onto his feet. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him firmly on the lips. Annabeth pulled away, her arms still around Percy's neck. Her eyes softened and she looked lovingly at him.

"Here," Annabeth bent down and picked up the blackened cookies that were scattered across the kitchen floor and the cookie sheet that was laying at her feet. She threw the cookies into the trash can and the sheet into the sink.

She led Percy over to where his latest dough had been sitting. She took a spoon out of one of the drawers and tried it.

"It's good, but it's missing something...let's see...ah! Percy," she said, turning towards him, "Did you add brown sugar?"

  "Brow-what? Um, no..." Percy answered.

"That's what it's missing." Annabeth looked over towards the recipe and added the right amount of brown sugar, letting Percy mix it in. "There we go!" Annabeth exclaimed, pecking Percy on the cheek.

"Thanks, Annabeth," Percy replied, leaning over and kissing her on the forehead.

"Welcome home."
