Fires are massive and destructive.

They burn down what has taken ages to build.
They vanish the positivity around.
It's smoke clouds up our heads, blurring our better judgement.

Fires can also arouse desires.

They make those feelings come alive that we have been trying to bury deep within our soul.
They help us come to terms with our inner self.

And the most dangerous fires are the ones whose spark ignites within the heart.

~Noah~

Who does he think he is? I thought to myself as I took a sip of my coffee.

"Are you okay?" Asked Trevor, my supposed 'date'.

Trevor had texted me up yesterday saying that his business required for him to come to town for a while. He could even have to stay for months if need be. I was more than ecstatic. I was finally going to meet my best friend after so long! And him being here automatically made me feel less lonely, even though we weren't going to see each other every day. Just knowing that he would be around meant a lot to me.

Why I told Ian that I was going on a date was because I wanted to show him that I wasn't dying for his attention or anything. I had enough choices and he can't toss me around and treat me however he wished. Because honestly, that guy was the epitome of rudeness.

"Nothing. It's just...this guy," I replied, rolling my eyes.

Trevor chuckled.

"A guy again huh. Do you like him?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"No way!" I answered quickly but felt my cheeks heat up at the same time.

My high school best friend began laughing again.

"Sure," he teased.

"Whatever. He's rude and self centered and hot but really manner less." I muttered, taking another sip.

Really, Ian was so difficult.

He never let his inner feelings out, hell I wasn't even sure if he knew what his inner feelings were.
He treated me nothing more than just a body to sleep with. But then he suddenly grew mad because I was going on a date with someone else.

Why?

I blinked suddenly when I saw a hand waving in front of my eyes.

"Dude what's going on with you? Are you thinking about him again?" Trevor said, smirking.

I rolled my eyes without saying anything.

We continued our chit-chat about high school and then college and then work and then our families...

"Sorry to say bro, your parents are shit." He said, taking a bite of his cookie. We had been talking about my tragic coming-out episode, as compared to his unicorn-ed and rainbow-ed one. Both of his parents were broad minded and supportive. I secretly envied that.
