Chapter 8 : + 4 years and 32 days
‘O Allah, keep me alive so long as living is good for me and cause me to die when death is good for me.’
Sahih Sunan ibn Majah
"Who is that?" Firdaws asked even if she knew who exactly it was.
"Come on Fifi, open" the male voice answered.
"Don’t call me that again!" She laughed and opened the door.
Zayd was standing by the door, holding bags.
"Salam beautiful" he kissed her on the forehead. She giggled, she liked it when he was like that. "Is mom here already?" He asked searching for her in the crowd of people.
"Not yet but she called. She'll be here in a second."
Firdaws helped him with the bags in the kitchen. Her mom was there, preparing a huge cake. She greeted Zayd, her eyes still on the cake and continued decorating it. She was actually finishing the A.
"Wa aleykum salam."
He then greeted everyone. Hafsa and Shams kissed him on the cheek. He even played with them. His father-in-law greeted him as well. He was like a second father too him. His best friend’s dad was inspiring and wise.
"Salam aleykum son"
Firdaws smiled widely and followed Zayd whenever he'd go and presented him to everyone in the room.
He turned to face Firdaws."He is late”
"He should have been here now" she replied.
"When did he go?" He whispered looking all around him.
"Don’t worry he'll be here in a moment"
When she finished her sentence, she recognized a familiar silhouette and grinned, happy.
"There he is! Ahmad!" Firdaws yelled.
Zayd and her ran to him and hugged him.
"A year dude. A year" Zayd whispered in Ahmad's neck.
"Sorry guys" Ahmad whispered back "you know I really got caught with my job"
"Mom made you the best cake for you return" Firdaws said, kissing him on the cheek.
"Barakalahu fikoum" Ahmad now had tears of joy escaping from eyes. "I missed you guys a lot"
Yes, Ahmad had lived his crisis. Actually he fell on a coma for two months. Dr Seanfil and his colleagues decided to practice a surgery on his heart. Risky but in the same time it was their only hope. Thanks to Allah, it was success. Ahmad could live. Sure he had to take some medicine and follow a strict diet and treatment but he lived. He decided then to study and soon enough he had been hired by a big multinational in Saudi Arabia. Needless to say he had made Umra and Hajj, not only once but twice. Today he had tickets for his sister and her husband, Zayd. It was a surprise.
Nonetheless his crisis was for him a way to make him discover the way to Allah. He made the right choice and never lost hope so Allah let him live.
'And put trust in Allah, and enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs'
Surat Al Ahzab
