Carter scrambled over, Fiona and Felix at his side.
"Sis?" Fiona whispered, shaking Georgia's shoulders slightly. "Come on, say something."
Fiona drew a ragged breath, trying to roll over, but Felix held her down. "You'll just push it deep her into your back." He muttered, his straw fingers wrapping around the arrows shaft. "I'm sorry." He said quietly. "This may hurt a little."
He pulled the arrow from Georgia's back. The girls scream sound echoed through the trees.
"This is my fault." Felix muttered. "I thought I could block the arrow. Give you time to get into the hole."
He poked his finger through a hole ripped through his fabric torso."We need to get her to a hospital." Carter grunted, pushing himself onto his knees. Releasing his bleeding cuts, he wrapped his arms under Georgia.
Fiona looked at him. "What are you-"
Carter pushed himself to his feet.stumbling backwards under the weight of the redhead. His back slammed into a tree and he let out a howl of pain as the rough bark dug into his cut."Rabbit!" He called. The animal looked up. "Get us to a hospital!"
The rabbit shook it's head. "Oh no! You can't do that! The Queen won't allow it! You have to get to the White Roses!"
Carter lurched forward, pulling himself from the tree. Felix caught him before he could fall over.
"Let me carry-"
"No." Carter wheezed. "I-I got her."
Fiona rounded on the rabbit. "Well! What are you waiting for? Get us to these-these White Roses!"
The rabbit nodded and bounded off to a rough path through the trees. "Yes ma'am! Right this way ma'am!"Carter eventually let the scarecrow carry Georgia's limp body. Her twin sister regularly dropped back to check her pulse and breathing.
"She's not doing well." She said quietly. "How much longer."
"Not long at all!" The rabbit chimed. "Just through... Here!" He burst into a clearing, a long table stretched across it. At one end, his feet crossed on the table. The brim of an oversized purple top hat was pulled down over his face. He sipped quietly on a cup of tea as the group approached before looking up, his eyes wide."White!" He called, flinging himself weightlessly from his chair onto the table. He ran across it, dodging cakes and teapots, before stepping down and shaking the rabbits hand.
"Good to see you my good friend. And in such a bedraggled state! You must tell me all about what happened!"
The White turned to Felix, who swayed slightly under the weight of Georgia.
"Perhaps another time Hatter. But as of this present moment, these people have a severely injured young girl here. Hatter nodded, pushing items off the table. "Lay her down here my fabricated friend!" He beamed at Felix. "I'll get March to retrieve the medical supplies. The Hatter whistled into the forest. A few moments later, a hare bounded out, a red tailcoat pulled over its reddish brown fur.
"You called?" He asked in a heavy Irish accent, hopping up onto the table. The Hatter nodded at Georgia's limp body. Nodding, the hare bunched under the table and emerged with a red wooden box, a white cross painted on its front.
"Alright." Hatter muttered, rummaging around. "How about... Aha!" He pulled a teabag from the box and dropped it into a steaming tea pot. After a few moments, the tipped the brown liquid into a China cup.
"Tea?" Fiona shouted. "My sister is dying and you make tea? Are you mad?"
Hatter turned to her, grinning ear to ear. "Why yes actually, I am."
He tipped a small amount of tea into Fiona's wound. The girl writhed on the table for a moment, Carter collapsing beside her and laying an arm across her shoulder.Felix had to restrain Fiona as she took at swing at the top hat wearing man. He held up a finger at her.
"Herbal teas can have amazing anti-inflectional properties. Isn't that right March?"
"T'is indeed Hatter. T'is indeed." He bounded around Georgia's head feverishly. After a moment, Georgia stirred. Hatter took a needle and began stretching up Fiona's back.
"She may take a while to recover." He muttered, taking a sip of his tea while he worked. "The wound is quite deep. It's practically a miracle she's going to survive."Carter winched as Fiona began to stitch up the cut across his back.
"So." He grunted. "You're name is actually White?"
The rabbit turned to him. "Well no, of course not. It's Winston. Call me White though." He looked at a pocket watch sitting on the table.
"I'm going to be late!" He yelled, bounding off the table and through the woods.
"Don't mind White." Hatter said, handing Carter a steaming cup of tea. "This infiltration agent plan is just starting to get to him."Carter took the tea, spilling it as he felt the needle once again dig into his skin.
"Infiltration?" Georgia groaned, attempting to push herself up in the seat they had placed her in. A bloodied white bandage was visible through rips in her grey tunic. The Mad Hatter, glanced at March, who was dancing around a cake with a mouse.
"Haven't you heard love? The Queen of Hearts has turned, well... Bloodthirsty. Beyond her normal vicious ways, she delights in torturing and murdering innocents. So of course patient citizens like we gentle folk couldn't just sit around and ignore it. We started The White Roses. White over there is our man on the inside, feeding us information directly from the source.""So what do you plan to do?" Felix asked, twirling a teaspoon in his fingers. Hatter tilted his head, his top hat sliding over his mop of tangled dark hair.
"Do?"
Felix sat up. "You know. How do you plan to take action?"
March laughed. "We haven't gotten that far yet! What do you take us for? No. We must let things get the worst before we step in!"
Carter looked from the hare to Felix, doubting the logic of that plan.
"You're all mad." Fiona muttered.
A small mouse darted out of the way of Otto's paws. "Of course we are dearie! What else would we be?"A/N
