The next day Hanzo turned over in bed and noticed that it didnt seem to be his own. He opened his eyes and sat up in shock. Bright, yellow sunlight streamed through the glass on the window. He looked around and saw that everything was brightly lit. Colors were everywhere, from the sparkling amber liquor in the bottle on the floor to the bright red serape he was wrapped in. Looking down he saw that his skin was no longer deathly gray, it was a lively shade pink. He ran over to the window and stared in awe at the beautiful hues outside of it. The light blue of the morning sky, the shimmering green of the dew-covered grass, and the browns and reds of the robins that flew past in a blur. He couldnt believe his eyes. Gone were the gloomy tinges of black and white, now all he could see were the vibrant shades of the rainbow. He tried to remember what had happened the night before, but his mind went blank. All he knew was that Jesse asked to take him out for a drink. It was then he realized that he was still in McCree's room, and that he was nowhere to be seen. He hastily made himself look presentable and made his way down to the mess hall to find him, searching for answers.
----
Once there, his eyes widened as he took in the wonderful new sight full of the vivid colors he hadn't seen in a long time. He scanned the faces in the cafeteria and saw the signature hat, now painted in dark brown instead of the usual inky black. He made his way over to him and rested a hand on McCree's shoulder. As he did so, the colors in the room grew brighter and seemed to glow. Jesse gasped and quickly turned to face him. "H-hanzo, yer awake! I, uh, would've woken you up to get ready for the mission but you seemed mighty tired last night..." His usual confident and cool voice became a flustered mess when he opened his mouth. "...so i let you sleep in....."
Hanzo stared into his chestnut brown eyes and quietly whispered, "You can see it too, can't you? Please tell me that you see what i see."
Jesse's eyes softened and he sighed in relief. He lightly brushed his hand against Hanzo's cheek, and again the reds, yellows, greens, and blues sparked and danced throughout their vision. This was enough of an answer for the both of them, and they smiled.
Before they could say anything else, a bell sounded and a loud voice could be heard yelling for everyone to group up for the mission.
"Welp, i guess ill see you around, Hanzo," McCree said as they were led into different groups for battle. "good luck on yer first mission."
Hanzo grinned. "The same goes for you, gunslinger." And with that, they marched onward into battle.
