There were four groups: attackers, defenders, tanks, and healers. Hanzo was among the defenders, and was atop the towers behind everyone else. In front of them were the healers, making sure the injured were tended to. Next were the attackers and the tanks, which McCree was a part of. As they all lined up and got ready to fight, Hanzo looked up into the sky, studying the bright, yellow sun. He smiled to himself and couldnt wait until the battle was over. He had so much to say to him, so much to do. He wanted to thank him for allowing his vision to be filled with such beauty, especially after all of the horrible things he had done in his past. He wanted to be closer to him, to feel his skin brush against his own and watch as the colors glittered and became more lively than it seemed possible. And he wanted him to feel the same way. To think like he did, to want what he wanted. To be together.

The battle raged on and it seemed like all was lost. The healers couldnt keep up with all of the wounded and the defenders barely had enough time to aim before finding a more dangerous target to take out. Most of the attackers were too injured to go on but the tanks still held strong. Miraculously, they managed to steal victory and the enemies retreated.
Alarms sounded, signaling for them all to regroup back into the base. Hanzo dropped off his weapons and armor and quickly headed into the medical tent. He wanted to make sure that McCree was okay.
He looked around but saw no sign of him. 'He must not have gotten injured, that's a relief.' He thought to himself as he exited the tent. He walked around the entire base but still couldnt find him. Finally, he ran into Commander Reyes. "Have you seen Jesse?" Hanzo asked.
He gave him a grim look. "He didnt make it through the fight, bled out on the battlefield. Damn shame, too. He was one of the best shots we had here."

As Hanzo watched the Commander walk away, he sank to the floor. Silent tears trickled down his face, and the colors he had known so briefly once again faded to the dark shades of black and white.
