The process of traveling through dimensions is a difficult one. It requires a lot of physical and mental endurance.
There's a vortex you have to enter each time, see? It's pretty tall and wide.
And it is very energy consuming.
Naturally, each time I visit a new dimension, I attempt to find a place to rest for a short while. Just to be sure that I have enough endurance and energy to disguise myself.
I do not want people to know I'm different, after all. Depending on where I am, I disguise myself accordingly.
My adventure began when I reached this one universe with a planet called Earth. I had heard of it before, and I was excited when I arrived.
My guise was fairly simple, compared to previous ones.
I looked like any other Earthling, just a bit more eccentric. I had white hair and blue eyes. My skin was pasty and pale, and I wore fancy clothes... Almost like I was from a different era.
This is good. I should fit in just fine.
When I made my appearance on the planet, I found myself in a small village. There were rows of small houses, plenty of markets, and grocery stands. This village could be just about anywhere, so I scanned the area to detect the native language.
I saw French all over the place.
But am I actually in... France?
There was only way to find out. People were walking all over, and I approached a young girl to ask her where I was.
I will tell her I'm a foreigner, and that I'm not familiar with the area.
I tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around.
Her eyes were big and bright... and brown. They were looking straight into mine.
Her blonde hair was blowing all over the place due to the wind, and she offered me a small smile.
"Yes?"
"Bonjour, mademoiselle. Do you know where we are? You see, I am not from around here... I'm a traveler, and I must have missed the signs."
She chuckled a bit and moved her hair out of the way.
"Oh. Just a small village in France. To be honest... I don't remember the name of it. But I hope that helps you!"
"It actually does. Thank you very much."
The girl examined me for a moment, and her smile widened.
"Yeah, I can tell you aren't from around here. What's your name, stranger?"
"Ileyar, miss. And yourself?"
"Marcelle. Your name is rather unique, Ileyar. I like it."
Marcelle. It's rather nice.
"Once again, thank you... Marcelle."
"You said you're a traveler?"
"Correct. Why do you ask?"
"Well, how long do you plan on staying here?"
"I am not certain. I just come and go as I please, really."
"I see. You should probably know the area, then! Why don't I show you around?"
My face did something peculiar at that moment. I felt my lips twist upwards... I believe it's called "smiling".
"Of course. I would love that."
"Great! Let's go!"
The bubbly blonde firmly grabbed a hold of my hand, and took off running. I had no choice but to follow.
Not that I would complain, then or now.
