Bellamy's POV
Living in the hospital isn't the most exciting thing I've ever done. I mostly just stare at the ceiling, and listen to conversations between the nurses. My doctor walks in, before I'm fully awake.
"Good morning Bellamy," Dr. Griffin says with a smile. "How are you?"
How can she be so peppy all the time. It's impossible to sleep here with all the beeps and nurses.
"Good," I say with a forced smile. "What are you doing here?"
She doesn't usually come unless she has something important.
"I wanted to let you know that we are going to do the surgery. Despite the risks, it should give you five more months. We are able to squeeze you in tomorrow, so don't eat anything."
She gets called away, but I am still extremely happy. I pick up my phone and text my little sister. She's the only family I have left. My mother doesn't know who our father is, but she's never around anyways. If she does show up, she's most likely drunk or high.
I hear a knock on the door, right before another doctor walks in.
"Hey Bellamy," Dr. Jackson says. "Did you hear the news?"
He's the resident on my case. I smile and nod.
"Well I'm just here to bring by your new roommate."
"I'm getting a new roommate?"
"Yep."
We hear voices in the hall, and then he goes to meet the people. They wheel in a bed. I don't see the person's face. All I see is blonde hair.Clarke's POV
I wake up to the sound of machines beeping. I jump as I spot a man staring at me.
"Who are you?" I ask with confusion.
That's when I get a wave of pain through my body. I shift in the bed, trying to find s comfortable position. When I'm in a good place, I look around the room, and realize I'm in a hospital.
"Good morning," the man says with a smile. "I'm your doctor, Dr. Jackson."
"I'm Clarke, nice to meet you."
"I know who you are," he says with a laugh.
I wasn't trying to be funny. I just want to know where I am, and get out of here.
"Where am I?"
"You're at Polis City hospital."
"What's wrong with me?"
"You were in a car crash. You have a few broken ribs, some minor internal bleeding, and a nasty cut on your head."
I touch the bandage on my forehead, as he continues.
"We are going to keep you for another night just for observation. After that, you'll be on your way."
I nod and he leaves. That's when I notice there's someone else in my room. Thankfully, he isn't hovering over me, like the other guy. Instead, he's laying in a hospital bed next to mine. Great. A roommate.
"Hi," he says, extending a hand across to me. "I'm Bellamy Blake."
"Hi," I say, taking his hand. "I'm Clarke Griffin."
"Griffin, like Dr. Griffin?"
"I don't know who that is."
"She's my surgeon. Are you related?"
"Probably not," I say with a laugh. "No one in my family is a doctor."
"Oh, I guess that's cool."
"So what do they have you in here for?" I ask after an moment of awkward silence.
"Oh I have a heart defect. There literally a hole in my heart."
"That sounds painful."
"Sometimes. I'm waiting on a surgery that is supposed to keep me alive for about 5 more months, which is more time then I have now."
"How much time do you have right now?"
"2 weeks."
"You don't look like someone who's dying."
We laugh and talk for about an hour, until we are interrupted by the doctors doing their rounds. Shortly after, someone comes into the room, carrying two trays of food. I eat, and Bellamy watches me for about twenty minutes.
"Do you want some?" I ask.
"No I can't," he answers. "I have surgery tomorrow."
I hear a knock on the door, and then a young girl walks in.
"Hey," she says to Bellamy. "Oh I see you got a new roommate."
"Hi. I'm Clarke."
"Hi. I'm Octavia. That's my brother."
She points to him with her head.
"Cool."
We spend the next hour or so, talking and getting to know each other. We talk until Octavia reveals that she's got to go meet someone, and leaves.
"She's nice," I say turning to my new friend.
"Yeah."
We both sleep and talk for the next couple hours. Occasionally, doctors or nurses come in to check on us. Make sure we're still alive. They continue to check up on us throughout the night, and Neither of us get a lot of sleep. When morning comes, Bellamy is wheeled off to surgery. I wait in suspension for five long hours.
Finally, when a doctor comes to check on me, I ask about my friend. We've got really close yesterday, since neither of us could've walked away. I spend three hours oblivious, because no one will reveal any information to me.
Eventually, a nurse comes in with a stack of papers for me to fill out. It takes a long time to fill them out, because I'm worried about Bellamy. When I finish with the papers, a nurse comes into my room with a wheelchair. She helps me out of the bed and into the wheelchair. I guess I have to leave. Why wouldn't anyone tell me what happened with Bellamy's surgery? Is he ok?
