Chapter 4: Tristan
The Sorcerer: Temptation and Mystery
“Are those two, like, going out?” I asked Morgane because I honestly couldn't tell. For some reason I wanted her to say no.
“Apparently not, although it's obvious they should. I mean, there is definitely something going on between them,” She told me as we waited for them to finish 'talking'. I didn't mind waiting but it was boring, at least I could talk to my sister, even if she was rather annoying.
“How was Performing Arts?” I asked as I knew that was what she had last.
“Good Actually, me, Gwen and another girl created a rather funny comedy dentist scene which involved Russian accents and mirrors in broom cupboards,” She laughed, I was glad she'd had a good time.
“Sounds fun!” I replied, quite confused.
“Anyway, was music okay?” she asked.
“Yep, It was good. Alaska plays The Oboe and Drums so it worked well with my Sax and Bass,” I told her.
“Nice, you're in Dwayne's tutor by the way. I forgot to tell you,” She said and I didn't know whether to feel happy or not. I knew that Dwayne would be nice to me but there was something about him I wasn't sure about.
“That's cool, how is your tutor?” I asked her. Not bothering to tell her my worries about him.
“She is really nice actually, better than my tutor before!” she laughed. I knew she'd hated her last tutor at out old school.
“That's good,” I commented as Alaska appeared round the corner. Strangely, she looked upset and like she might cry at any second. Morgane must have noticed this too as she walked up to her and gave her a hug.
“What's wrong?” she asked. I wanted to do something but I didn't know what I could.
“Don't worry, it's nothing. Really. Just history,” She muttered.
“Come on, let's get home then,” she said trying to cheer her up.
“Yeah, let's” she replied.
They walked out of the school gate and I followed behind.
We soon arrived at our house where we said bye to Alaska and Morgane promised to text her as she'd managed to get Dad to put money on her phone even though he was away. I unlocked the door and went inside while they were talking about something. I guessed that something was Dwayne. I knew there was a reason I couldn't trust him. After a while Morgane finally came inside.
“I feel sorry for her,” she sighed. Throwing her school bag down and collapsing on the sofa opposite me.
“Did you find out what happened?” I asked but I didn't know why I cared.
“Not directly but I have an idea. I just need to do some research...” she said, she obviously knew more than she was telling.
“Do you need my help?” I asked, hoping she'd say yes.
“Not, it's best if I do this the traditional way, sorry,” She apologised.
“No, It's fine,” I said standing up and walking upstairs. Morgane followed but went into her room.
Crashing down on my bed I grabbed for my laptop. I was going to do some research of my own because if something was going on with Alaska then I wanted to find out what it was. Even if Morgane found out I doubt she would tell me.
I decided to start with the obvious and logged into my Facebook and then Twitter account. I then realised that I didn't even know what Dwayne's last name was. So instead I typed into the search bar 'Alaska Grey' and quickly found her account. As I was on her page I thought I would add her anyway. Searching her friend list I found the name I was searching for. "Dwayne Blake," I muttered. Luckily his wall wasn't blocked, however, unfortunately there wasn't anything obvious on there.
