Chapter 2: Tristan POV
The Sorcerer: Reasons
I stumbled down the stairs, nearly tripping over Gwaine, our over-friendly long haired black cat. Looking at the clock it was half past two. Morgane should be home in just over thirty minutes. I felt guilty for leaving her to go to school on her own but it wasn't my fault that Dad wouldn't let me go in. Luckily he's away for the rest of the week so I can do what a like for once. It was just so much easier when mum was still around. In the kitchen I ran some water over the fresh cut on my left arm. The blood trickling into the water, staining it red. Once the bleeding had slowed I wiped it dry then walked into the lounge and sat on the sofa, trying to find something entertaining to watch. I then spent the next half hour watching the end of a rather boring film on TV while trailing over my boring facebook page.
Eventually I heard the sound of voices outside. Identifying one of them as my sister's I got up and opened the door, wondering who she was talking to. Someone from school I guessed.
I opened the door to see her chatting to a girl who I guessed was in our year. She had long blond hair that fell gracefully over the shoulders of her suit jacket. The uniform silhouetted her body and she was slightly taller than Morgane. I think she noticed I was staring at her so I quickly looked away. I think she was giving my sister her mobile number and mentioned something about walking to school together tomorrow. As I would be going tomorrow I guessed I could walk with them which meant I could get to know this girl better.
Morgane quickly said bye to her then walked up to me.
“Have a nice day?” I asked her as she walked over to me.
“Fine.” she hissed and I was surprised my her anger, she seemed fine when she was talking to the girl.
“Only asking!” I muttered under my breath and she grabbed my arm and pulled me inside. Once she'd dragged me inside then firmly shut, well, slammed the door she turned to face me with a look on her face that said 'I'm really not impressed so I may have to kill you'. Although I actually didn't know why - I hadn't done anything, had I?
"Yes?" I asked as she seemed more intent on evilly stating at me than talking and telling me what her problem was.
She sighed. "Thanks a lot for this morning!" she said sarcastically before walking away into the kitchen where she got herself a drink. I should of know she would still be annoyed at me about that. I sighed the joined her in the kitchen.
"Listen, Morgane, I'm sorry. Honestly I am but I had to do it and it's not my fault I didn't know that dad would react how he did," I really hoped she would forgive me because I knew from experience it wasn't a good idea to get on my sister's bad side.
"Yeah but you could of been slightly more responsible, you should know by now that he doesn't like you doing that. Face it, He doesn't like either of us doing anything any more," I felt bad as she spoke the truth, I should have known. "Oh, and you can thank me again because I told everyone at school you were ill," she told me and I was grateful.
"Okay, thank you," I said trying to clear the tension between us. "So, who was the girl you were with?" I asked, hoping she would answer without thinking I was too nosy.
"Alaska, I sit next to her in Geography and Science,"
"Cool,"
"Yeah, she's nice. I said I'd walk to school with her tomorrow so you can walk with us if you want, if you're even going that it,"
"Of course I'm going tomorrow!" I told her definitely and I was glad she was starting to forgive me and my actions.
"Good," she replied blankly.
