I was excited to get away from Ryder for a while especially after this morning. I knew they were back together. I know what you're thinking but no I'm not jealous I'd never get jealous of Jessica.

Finally Monday was over. I walked out of school into the parking lot while taking a breath of the winter air. Snowflakes were falling around me as I walked excited to go to the party to distract myself. I looked over to where Ryder's Range Rover was supposed to be and it wasn't there. This shit fuck better not have left me. I swear if he did ugh.

I picked up my phone and dialed his number. He answered and I waited for him to talk.

"Hey Emma what's up what do *moan* you need? "
What the fuck. Was he actually banging Jessica right now? Did he seriously ditch me for that?
"Ryder what the hell. You're supposed to be driving me home where the hell are you?"
"I'm at home what do you think? Ask one of your friends to drive you. Damn Jessica you're so fucking hot."

I hung up on him who the hell did he think he was. I mean of course I could catch a ride with someone, but seriously just leaving me here. What the hell? 

I saw Micheal one of Ryder's friends walking out of school. I knew he had a car so I walked up to him and interlocked arms with him while he was texting.

"Hey Mike can you drive me to Ryder's? He ditched me." I said while looking at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Sure whatever Emma. You owe me though." He said rolling his hazel eyes at me.

"Alright what?"

"Get me a date with your friend Jessie." He said while running his hands through his platinum blonde hair.

"Sure whatever!" I said as I skipped in the direction of his blue Ford truck, "Beat you there!"

Mike and I had always had a brother sister type relationship and he was always there for me when I needed someone. I told him everything and he'd never judge me. It was nice having a guy friend to comfort you once in a while.

"Oh no you won't!" He said whole chasing after me. Of course since I got a head start I reached his car first. He unlocked it and I got in.

"Hey um Emma I'm sorry about your brother he was such a cool guy. If you need anything at all like a place to stay or anything you can always tell me." He said with a seriousness I really hadn't seen before. I rubbed his shoulder and said, "Thanks Mike, it means a lot. You going to Matts party tonight?"

"Oh fuck. I don't know I got stuff to do like cook dinner."

"Since when do you eat dinner at 10:00?" I said rolling my eyes. "You're coming. I don't care what you say!"

"Alright fine!" He said while pulling out of the school parking lot.

After ten minutes of talking we got to Ryder's house. I got out of the car and said a quick goodbye to Mike as I walked to the door. I knocked on the door expecting Sandy to answer since Ryder was so 'busy'. Like what's a jackass.

Of course what was I thinking? Jessica opened the door and stood in the door way in just a tank-top and underwear.

"The hell do you want?" She said as she kissed her teeth.

"I'm staying here. Wanna go get Ryder so I can talk to a normal human being. Thanks." I said as I flashed a fake smile. She rolled her eyes and called for Ryder. He came down the stairs in nothing but grey joggers. Damn. Wait no I'm mad don't get distracted.

He reached the door and said, "Whats up Em. What do you need?"

"What the hell Ryder?! You seriously ditched me at school to bang Jessica?! You could've at least let me know!" I was fuming.

"Alright so you're here now what's the big deal?" I resisted the urge to roll my eyes as he said that.

"You know what? Fuck you. Hey Jessica fuck you too." I said as I pushed past them to go get my stuff from the guest bedroom. I stormed up the stairs and angrily started shoving my things in my bag. Angry tears started forming in my eyes.

I finished packing and I grabbed my suitcase and walked down the stairs. At this point I was now crying. I couldn't believe that this boy who I trusted so much could do something like this. I thought we had something. I rounded the corner about to walk out the door when I saw Ryder and Jessica having a full blown makeover session.

I pulled them apart and said, "Really?!" Before running out the door crying like a baby. I heard Ryder yelling after me, but I just kept running. I didn't care anymore. He ripped my heart out and stomped on it. I wasn't going back. Not now, not ever.

I ran until I reached the one place I definitely didn't want to be. My house. There were still bullet holes in the tree in the front yard and in the door. It was freezing outside. It was winter time and it was snowing hard. I went and sat under the tree where I played with Luke and Ryder since I was in 2nd grade.

(Flashback 2 weeks before her brother died)

I went up to Luke's room and knocked on the door. He opened it and looked deeply saddened

"What's wrong Luke what happened?"

"Grandmas gone. We have nobody Em. Nobody. What are we gonna do?"
I pulled him into a hug and said, "Its okay we'll make it."

My thoughts were interrupted by someone sitting next to me. I looked up at the person and saw Ryder.

"Go away." I said through sobs.
